HEADS HAVE GREATER THAN .075" FROM COIL BIND! THIS ENGINE JUST HAD A MAJOR REFURBISH TO INCLUDE ROD AND CAM BEARINGS, NEW CAM AND LIFTERS, NEW PUSH RODS, NEW SET OF LONG SLOT ROCKER ARMS, NEW POLY LOCKS, FULL VALVE JOB TO THE WINTERS L88 ZL1 HEADS INCLUDING NEW VALVE SPRINGS, NEW HARDENED RETAINER NEW HARDENED LOCKS, AND NEW HARDENED SPRING CUP LOCATOR SEATS. THE VALVES WERE REFACED. THE VALVES WERE LEAK TESTED TO ENSURE THE VALVES HAVE A GOOD SEAL ON THE 45 SEAT ANGLE. THE L88 HEADS HAD A FRESH MILL TO ENSURE STRAIGHTNESS AND NEW PREMIUM GRAPHITE COMPOSITE HEAD GASKETS WERE USED WITH FIRE SEAL TECHNOLOGY. THE ENGINE HAS DOUBLE ROLLER TIMING SET INSTALLED WITH A COMP CAMS CAM LOCK AND HARDENED CAM BOLTS. THE CAMSHAFT LOBES AND LIFTER FACES WERE COATED IN SPECIAL FLAT TAPPET BREAK-IN ASSEMBLY GREASE WHEN INSTALLING THE CAMSHAFT. PERMATEX ULTRA SLICK ENGINE ASSEMBLY LUBE WAS USED ON THE ENGINE BEARINGS. THE BLOCK WAS MACHINED FOR A TORRINTON ROLLER BEARING AND TORRINGTON ROLLER BEARING INSTALLED BEHIND THE CAM SPROCKET TO REDUCE FRICTION ON THE BLOCK CAMGEAR MATING SURFACE. A NEW MELLING M77HV OIL PUMP AND NEW PICKUP SCREEN WAS INSTALLED, ALONG WITH A STEEL PINNED OIL PUMP DRIVE SHAFT AND ARP OIL PUMP FASTENER. I WELDED WITH NICKLE ROD THE PICKUP SCREEN TO THE OIL PUMP SO IT CANNOT VIBRATE LOOSE. THE OIL PUMP PICKUP TUBE SCREEN WAS SET AT +/- .300" OFF THE PAN BOTTOM. TR MARKED VALVE COVER BOLTS WERE USED ALONG WITH PARAGON'S REPRODUCTION RESTORATION INTAKE BOLTS DURING ASSEMBLY. A NEW TONAWANDA VALVE COVER DECAL HAS BEEN INSTALLED.THE ENGINE IS INTERNALLY BALANCED WITH 8" HI PO HARMONIC BALANCER.
