Description of 1964 Chevrolet Corvette, Rare Factory A/C Convertible!

All vehicle trades considered, including classics and performance. I can assist with financing and transport as needed.
This gorgeous 1964 Corvette convertible really has a lot to offer. As a red C2 Corvette it obviously has a lot of visual appeal, and with a complete numbers-matching drivetrain it has the originality that matters in a classic Corvette. This is also one of the few air conditioned convertibles produced that year (and yes it works). Throw in a 4-speed transmission, power steering, knock-off wheels, and a Spinner Concourse award and I think you’ll agree this one stands apart.
This beautiful car shows 45k miles and has seen one high quality repaint in its original Riverside Red. The frame does not exhibit any signs of accident damage or rust problems, while the body is very straight with even gaps throughout. All the brightwork and trim pieces are in very good condition. This convertible can give a few different looks with the white soft top or the matching red hard top too. The knock-off wheels and matching spare all have BF Goodrich Silvertown 6.70-15 tires.
The drivetrain on this Corvette is all original. Note this car has an assembly date of October 22, 1963. The 327ci engine is the optional L75 package rated at 300hp. Its stamping pad shows an engine assembly date of October 10 along with a matching partial VIN. The 4-speed Muncie transmission has a date of October 14 and also has a matching partial VIN. And while Corvette rear ends do not have a VIN stamp, this one shows a CJ-code 3.08 Positraction with a date of October 17.
Originality aside, everything is in excellent mechanical condition. The car has a very smooth idle and offers good power as you run through the gears. The clutch and shifter are easy to use, and the ride is surprisingly comfortable for a 56-year-old sports car. The brakes are as good as it gets for manual drums, while the power steering is a nice option for low speed maneuvering. This Corvette is also very nice on the highway with the taller rear end ratio. Receipts from the last 20 years are also included and show thorough care and maintenance.
The black interior is also in great condition and looks just like it did in 1964. As mentioned, this is one of the few C2 convertibles with factory air conditioning. This system remains on R12 refrigerant and blows cold. Note the battery relocation that was done on factory a/c cars. All gauges work properly and the speedometer is accurate. The horn, wipers, parking brake, lights, and AM/FM radio all function properly. Even the clock works!
The mid-year Corvettes from 1963-1967 represent some of the most desirable Corvettes of all time, with their sumptuous curves and spirited performance. This 1964 model further combines condition, options, and originality along with the requisite looks and performance. Whether you are an established Corvette collector or just after your first such car, this one is worth a look.
