One Amazing 1963 Chevy pickup truck. Unbelievable original condition California survivor. V8 Engine and 4 speed Transmission. 40,000 miles. Comes with lots of documentation. This truck drives and stops. I don't think you could find a better original frame and body to build your Vintage dream machine or just enjoy it the way it is. Surface rust only with just the right amount of patina. Clean title with "Non-Op" registration The interior still looks like it did in 1963. Still has the ORIGINAL seat material and pattern under the current black seat cover. Even the floor mats and pedal pads are original. The original BOW-TIE Chevy radio still works. On the inside is a dealer installed Air Conditioning unit (Not working but all there) Original steering wheel un-cracked and correct horn button. Gauges work including gas gauges (Just installed new fuel sending unit). Transmission smooth and strong clutch. This series had spartan interiors, no funky door cards or headliners. Take a close look at the dash and interior, it's A-1. All the knobs and glove box just as they were when it went into storage 30+ years ago. Seat comfortable and still slides. Door and body seams straight..Glass all good and windows crank. Functioning emergency brake. Crawling around underneath, you would be impressed by the chassis and super clean uncut rockers and sheet metal. All four corners and inner panels in excellent condition. If you are looking for a cool older 60's truck to personalize or use for a business advertisement, I don't think you could find one any better in this price range. | MORE OF THE STORY, RECOMMENDATIONS, AND KNOWN HISTORY ON THIS 1963 CHEVY PICKUP;The original owner bought the truck new here in Orange, California at Sellman Chevrolet. He wanted the C-20 so he could put an overhead camper on it. He was a "fusser" and fix it man. Built a little wood tool box behind the seat for his flares and tools. When he died, he left the truck to his son, who I have known him for years, just lives down the street. They removed the camper and used the truck very little. I tried several times to buy the truck but he was never in the mood to sell it.I think this Virus thing motivated him to finally move it on. I had it flat bedded to my house, Here are the things I have done so far to get it up and running. New 12 volt Battery, New fuel pump, new sending unit and fresh gas. New master brake cylinder and complete front wheel brake job.. New shoes and wheel cylinders I am in the process of updating the tires and rims .The 15 inch split rims can come with the truck if wanted. . RECOMMENDATIONS: The wood in the bed was shot. I added a 3/4 inch ply wood sub-floor. All the original bolts and runners are good. Other than one small dent on right side of the bed all the sheet metal is straight as an arrow, you could wet sand and paint this truck black without any problem. I thought it would be fun to try that Linseed technique so that's what we did. Please call or text with any questions or trade offers. If you live in Southern Calif, you have the advantage of coming to see it in person, I am retired and usually around. Thanks, Tom. |
