Description of 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 |
This 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 is an exceptionally fresh build of an accurate and iconic muscle machine. This one gives you the best features like an unbeatable color combo, four-on-the-floor, and a powerful big block. Plus, they spent time on the details - right down to the working cowl induction hood. The result is a muscle car for those who love to both drive and arrive in style. A brilliant application of the black will grab eyeballs from blocks away, but even up close, this coupe lives up to the promises made by the first impression. Bodywork is excellent all around, with great gaps and a lot of attention paid to getting those iconic white SS stripes painted on correctly. Then there's the cowl induction hood, blacked out grille, hood pins, and all that correct SS badging that makes sure this has an aggressive look. There is no paperwork supporting a true Super Sport, but the deeper you dig, the more you'll see correct pieces. It's built before new bumper laws so those big chrome kings fit much snugger to the body, and the rear one still houses the taillights in a very cool way. The new rubber all round demonstrate how detailed the restoration was and how fresh everything looks on a car with less than 800 miles since completion. And the upgrade to those polished torque thrust style wheels draws even more attention to where the power meets the pavement. One look inside, and you get more reminders of why this car is a cut-above. This was born a black bucket seat car, but you can tell from the carpeting, door panels, seats, and more that there has been a solid investment here to making sure this feels fresh and comfortable. It has all the right features for the driver, including a desirable center console w/Hurst shifter, a grippy SS steering wheel, and a clear view to the U14 round gauge layout that has a large tach and working clock. This wants to make sure you have the proper classic atmosphere, but still enjoy it for modern times, and so the radio is a retro-style unit with a modern AM/FM digital tuner with aux input for your iPod. Of course, we really know that your favorite soundtrack will come from rolling down all the windows on this pillarless hardtop and listening to the rumble of the exhaust. The fresh and powerful look continues under the hood. The 454 cubic-inch V8 is nicely detailed, right down to the decals and GM hoses. And what you'll really love is that this big block is upgraded for extra power with a Holley 750 CFM four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock Performer intake, and Hooker long tube headers. And the gasket around that air intake means this one has a proper cowl induction hood that lets the mighty motor inhale deeply with fresh air. The Flowmaster dual exhaust gives the big block a high-octane soundtrack, and the Muncie M20 four-speed manual transmission puts you in firm control of it all. As you look at the undercarriage photos, you're once again reminded about how fresh and comprehensive the restoration was. You'll also spot a correct-style F41 SS suspension that includes the rear sway bar and boxed trailing arms. And features like the power steering, power brakes with discs up front, and modern performance tires make it easy to enjoy this muscle machine. This is a fresh build of an icon, and they took the time to sweat the details. So all you have to do is come down and pick up your dream machine. Call today!!! |
