Description of 1987 Chevrolet El Camino |
I am re listing my El Camino because of all the rookie mistakes I made in the original listing last week. I have many new photos taken in better light. at more angles. and better close ups. WOW and they are all at the proper rotation too! Here goes. This El Camino is offered at a great value. you can own it for about half of what the parts I used to built it would cost. It had a frame on rest-mod from 1999-2000. The front and rear suspensions were completely rebuilt with all new coil springs. hardware. bearings. bushings. ball joints. 2" lowering spindles in front. and painted with por 15 paint to last forever. The posi rear end and suspension received the same treatment. The brake system has new rear wheel cylinders. e brake cable. brake shoes. rums and hardware. new power unit. master cylinder. rotors. calipers and cross drilled discs. All of the a/c parts were reinstalled in 2007. (everything was new or mint original parts) I used a polished aluminum sadin unit that makes ice cold air. is about 10 Lbs less then the GM Composer. and looks very cool. The radiator was replaced at that time with a 4 core. HD Tow package. A/T. A/C. unit that dose a great job of keeping it running cool usually 165-180 F. I used a Camaro Steering box. that combined with the 2" lowering spindles. and this thing steers like a vette. The 350 V8 is a 2000 vintage 330 HP GM Crate unit with chrome oil pan. air cleaner. timing chain cover. ECT. Edelbrok performer intake. matching Edelbrok 600 CFM Carb. Accel Dist. and HEI coil pack. All of that gives it more HP then I have ever needed. The Trans Is a late 70s (78-80) T350 That had a locking converter. The converter was changed and the trans completely rebuilt 2 times. the second time was about 23. 00 miles ago. It has a chrome pan. regular issue tork converter with a street and strip shift kit. So a stomp on the gas will catch a tire sequel in 1st and 2nd. But it drives like a new car. The exhaust system has ceramic coated headers and Y pipe into a High performance CAT ( it was built in Conn. so it needed the CAT) then into 2" duels to turbos. and out the back with chrome tips. it sounds great. but is not annoying on long trips The body was stripped to bare metal. new GM 1/4s were install. as well as GM fenders. core support and all 4 inner fenders. I used rust free 1980 Malibu doors and hood. We "jam painted" it before bolting on the new stuff. The paint is a late 90s Mitsubishi color call Black mica. The body was fill primed and sanded 2X. then sealed before it had 2 coats of color. and 3 coats of clear. then wet sanded 2X. and buffed 2X. The body and paint alone would cost you what I want for this car! NO TERD HERE ! The interior is has 86 Monte Carlo Buckets with reproduction covers. 87 Monte Carlo gauge cluster. Production Carpets. rear curtain. and head liner. A one of a kind dash cover ( its a prototype that never made it to production) With raised flames that were hand air brushed to match the hood graphic. I just had a pioneer CD played with IPOD plug installed in Jan 2015. It plays great through the custom built speaker boxes with 6x9 tri and 10" woofers in each. I have decided to sell it due to the lack of time to use it. over the passed 2 years it goes out about 6-10 times a year. that is just wrong for a truck the just loves the road. after all. the name El Camino means "THE ROAD" OK. OK. I can go on for ever here. if you need to know more. E-MAIL ME! But I will have questions too. I would be willing to ship it anywhere. I have am international shipper that is a close friend and knows the deal well. Go brake your piggy bank. save up you allowance and bid you butt off. and just maybe THE ROAD will lead to your house! |
