We are happy to have this great Chevy 5 window pick up in our inventory. These great trucks are very collectible. This is a really nice example.
There aren't a great number of features to list. These trucks are pretty basic.Inline 6 Cylinder 235ci engine3 Speed Manual Transmission12V SystemDrum BrakesHeater Click here to view our video of this 1951 Chevy 5 Window.
The body is in excellent condition. We found no rust on the body panels.
The current owner said the previous owner said the paint could use a wet sanding and buffing to give it a smoother look, but he felt it was fine the way it is. It really looks fine and attracted a ton of attention while we were doing the video.
The interior is well done. The dash is in good condition. There have been seat belts installed.
The original gauges are all currently working.
The original radio is in place, but is not working.
The only rust we found is this surface rust caused by moisture at some point getting under the mat. It could be sanded and repainted and would be fine. There is also a small amount in the battery box are. You will see in following photos the undercarriage is fine.
The inline 6 cylinder engine is not the original. It is the correct engine for the truck, but is from a 1957 to 1962 Chevy truck. We have posted the block casting number in a following photo.
The Rochester carburetor is possibly the original.
All in all the engine compartment is in great shape. The truck has been converted to 12V and the truck runs great.
The bed had been completely redone, but they never sealed it so it has faded a bit. The wood is still in excellent condition and could be sanded and varnished to look bring it back.
The undercarriage looks really good. We found no rust and the cab corners are really solid.
This old girl even has a "Cherry Bomb Glass Pack" muffler. Very old school.
This is the only bad spot on the body. There is a slight crack in the paint ans a little rust has begun to form. It's just the trim piece on the hood.
The seals have all been replaced on the cab.
