This auction is for a 1958 Chevrolet Apache short wheel base step side pu. It belongs to a good friend of minewho asked if I could list it for him. The truck originally came from North Carolina and still has North Carolinatitle. My friend put the truck in the shop a couple of years ago and did some repairs. The motor that was in it wasbad so he replaced it with a rebuilt 283 V-8 ( a vintage 66 motor) and a car 4spd saginaw trans. Has edelbrock 600cfm carb, alum intake, headers, with brand new dual exhaust with straight pipes. He also did complete brakes, brake lines, shocks, clutch, wiring, gauges, all the lights and horn working, still need attention for wipers to work. Installeda new bed kit with stainless steel strips. Did some light body work and put the truck in red oxide primer. A littlemore prep work and would be ready for paint. Overall a pretty solid truck very nice frame and under carriage. Windowsroll up and down fine. Drivers side vent window is cracked but we have a new replacement included also have 2 new mufflersand the stainless moldings that go around the door windows and back of cab. One thing that I would replace is the shifter.My friend likes it but it's kind of loosey goosey . Sometimes it shifts great and other times it takes a little bit of finagling. Also will need a new battery as this one is weak. Still a great investment for the little effort that you will put into it.
