1980 GMC Sierra Classic C25~California rust free truck with original paint~Corporate 14 bolt with 4.10 gears~Original 454 cid V8 Motor~TH 400 transmission~Camper SpecialNO RESERVE AUCTIONUp for a NO RESERVE auction is a beautiful 1980 GMC Sierra Classic C25 pickup truck. This truck is an authentic California survivor, built at the former GM plant in Fremont, CA, the same facility that is currently building Tesla cars today. This 40 year old truck is still wearing the originaltwo tone Camel Metallicwith Neutral Tan paint it came from the factory with in with in late 1979. The truck was sold new in November of 1979 at Groth Brothers GMC in Livermore,CA roughly 20 miles away from the factory it was built in. It has been passed down through several generations within the same family who bought new in 1979. A 1980 is a unique 1 year only body style for squarebody trucks. It was a changeover year that incorporates design elements from the 73-79 style as well as the 81-87 style. This GMC was ordered by the original owner with specific options to fit his needs. The truck was ordered with the largest motor available,a 7.4 liter 454cid V8 motor still painted the original blue. Backed by aTH400 automatic transmission, putting power to a Corporate 14 bolt rear end with 4.10 gears. It is also ordered with the heavy duty chassis, which is the same chassisa 1 ton "C30" would have. All of this equates to one of the most capable and heaviest duty trucks available at the time and a sought after combination for enthusiast and collectors alike. In addition to the most ideal mechanical combination available, this trucks comfort and aestheticoptions are also an ideal combination and compliment the mechanics well. In a 1980 GMC world Sierra Classic means the top of the line equipmentoption; complete with fancier door panels, dash bezels, carpet, as well as dressed up grille with a painted stripe and a polished tailgate insert. Factory AC with an interior hood release were options that were not standard in 1980. The foresight to know that power windows and locks would break sooner then later as they all do, therefore opting for the standard manual equivalents was a geniusdecision in my opinion. Finally the truck is equipped with the Camper special package; complete with camper hookups, an additional battery, camper bumper, extended camper mirrors, added overload leaf springsand some of the coolest emblems which still have a lot of the originalred and yellow paint on them. It is important to note this is not just another squarebody truck. This truck is an unrestored survivor that was special ordered by a family who cherished it and built memories with it. This truck was not a work truck nor has it been abused. Everything on this truck is original 100% american made and 40 years old. This is especiallyimportant as so many of these trucks are getting rebuilt with inferior asian made aftermarket products that will most certainly not stand the test of time. Don't miss out on this opportunity to own an fantastic survivor that is attractivelyoptioned.SPID HighlightsCode #C6P: Heavy Duty ChassisCF2: Extended Camper MirrorsGT5: 4.10 Rear Axle RatioMX1: TH400 3 Speed Auto transmissionYE9: Sierra Classic TrimEquipmentC60: All Weather Air ConditioningLE8: 7.4 Liter 454cid. This is an honest rust free California truck and has been owned, maintained and cherished by the same family for the last 40 years. The body is very straight with no damage. The Camel and Neutral tan paint is in good condition for being 40 years old. However it is 40 years old, and GM paint was never known for its exceptional quality. It is quite common for paint on GM trucks of the 70s-00s to literally fall off. The hood and roof of this GMC have experienced a little bit of that as much of the primer is visible now. The bed of the truck is in exceptional condition and very evident this truck was hardly used as an actual truck. Rather the bed has been protected by a vinyl tanneau cover matching the Camel paint, installed at the Groth Brothers GMC shop in 1979. All the original glass is in great shape. None of the original emblems are missing and all look great. All of the original hubcaps look great and much of the paint is vibrant. Cosmetically this truck is 100% original, present and looks almost exactly as it did in November of 1979.Step inside this classic truck and you will find it mirrors the exterior in originality and preserved nicely. The original door panels are in decent shape. The original carpet has no rips or tears. The dash panel looks great, nothing is cracked or cut. All of the lights, fans and radio are functional. The AC will need to be recharged with R12 or converted in order to blow cold. The interior dome light is functional. The seat upholstery is in decent shape for 40 years, it is still quite firm there are 2 tears along the seams otherwise in good shape. Overall the interior is in good shape for a 40 year old truck, it is not perfect but it is original and all there.Mechanically this truck is a solid runner. The 454 fires up on the first turn and runs smooth. The truck has been meticulously maintained. Everything under the hood is original, this truck has not been modified in any way. The only aftermarket equipment is the cherry bomb dual exhaust it is nothing obnoxious but gives the 454 a little voice. The truck runs and drives nicely but also has a little power and torque when you need it. The transmission shifts smoothly. The brakes work as they should. The tires are like new 245/75/16 All Terrain tires.NO RESERVE THIS ITEM WILL SELL TO THE FINAL BIDDER!This listing includes well over 200 detailed photos that may take time to load, and the vehicle has been described as descriptive as possible.
