Description of 1986 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible |
An exceptionally nice survivor-grade 1986 Chevrolet Corvette convertible with ultra-low miles, the best features, manual transmission, and a great color combo. It's amazing you can get something this significant for such a value price. When you're looking for a collector Corvette, you're on the hunt for low mileage and a ton of originality. That's why you want to take a closer look at this one. That's an accurate odometer reading, and it tells you this one has barely crossed 8,400 miles. We're told the car was off the road from 1984 to 2000, which is how you can get nearly impossibly low mileage. The deep luster from the factory-applied red paint proves it was stored correctly, resurrected with care, and basically only been used for special occasions for the last couple decades. That's why the original panels fit so nicely and the factory alloys shine so brightly. Pretty much the only thing that we can find that isn't original are the tires. So if you know about Corvette Survivor shows, this one should already have you already dialing our number. The white roof gives this the all-American look of a Coca-Cola bottle. But as much as we like the look of it when it's in place, convertibles are really meant to be open to the world. And when you drop the top, you're greeted to a well preserved red interior. We love the combination of the fiery color inside and out to create an eye-catching package. More than just look great, you can tell this was well cared for, too. The power adjustable leather driver's seat provides the kind of comfort that could make some modern interiors jealous. The dual-spoke steering wheel was purposely designed to give you a commanding view of the unique instrument cluster. The digital gauges were state-of-the-art when introduced, and so it's a signature piece that everyone looks for today. That's why it's essential to have it looking as good as this one. But more than just the gauges, as you gaze across the entire interior, everything looks crisp and correct. This includes the controls for the power windows, power locks, trip computer, and Bose AM/FM/cassette stereo. And the factory air conditioning is upgraded to modern R134a (will need servicing to blow cold.) When you tilt the big hood forward, it gives a great view of one of the cleanest-looking L98 350 cubic-inch V8s we've seen in a while. While the fuel-injected small block is one of those perfect motors for tuning, this ultra-low mileage example remains as factory fresh as the rest of the car. It even shows all the right signs of the original main components. You take full control over the power with the manual transmission, and this factory unit makes the car quite rare. Despite being a no-cost option, only about 20 percent opted for it in 1986. Plus, with four-wheel disc brakes w/ABS, power steering, cruise control, and a fully independent suspension, this Corvette has all the right features to make it easy to add to the ultra-low odometer. The sale comes complete with the original window sticker and the owner's manual. This is where preservation and drop-top sports car appeal intersect at a value price. Call now! |
