This truck received the majority of its restoration efforts from 2008-9 along with a large binder full of receipts dating from then to now. A GM Vortec Crate 350 engine was installed along with a stout Currie 9-inch differential. This truck was converted to a 5-lug wheel with power front disc brakes and power steering. The paint is a custom matte Chocolate with shiny Almond fenders. The bed is custom stained wood. The Dallas Love Field Frontiers of Flight Museum is the fitting location for many of our photos of this classic post-war Chevrolet truck. Be sure to visit the historic Flight Museum if you find yourself in Dallas. Texas. The exterior showcases custom 2-tone paint in Chocolate Brown & Almond Cream. a classy look. The body is straight and solid. The front fenders have been replaced. inner and outer. The bumper pan was also replaced along with the firewall and cab corners. The side cowl panels have been replaced along with the window glass & glass seals. The weatherstrip has been replaced. The door handles and lock assembly have been converted to the later push button style. This truck has had a host of restoration work done and thousands invested with a large stack of receipts. A 5-lug conversion has been installed along with power-assist front disc brakes. The wheels of choice are Unique brand 15-inch black powder-coated wheels fitted with newer Goodyear Wranger 235/75R15 Radial Tires all around. Whitewall Inserts have been added for the vintage look. The bumpers came standard in a painted configuration while you could order them chromed in a "Deluxe" package. These chromed bumpers are fitted with color-keyed bumper guards front & rear. The bed is custom stained wood. paired with a Moon style brushed fuel tank. Under the hood is the GM Vortec 350 cubic inch V8. paired with a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission. This is a very strong running truck with plenty of power (estimated 350HP+) The engine bay also showcases CPP brand conversions including power steering and a power front disc brake setup. A custom Walker brand high capacity radiator and electric fan were installed to handle the Texas heat. The steel front cover has been chromed for extra flash underhood. The firewall has been replaced. Open the doors to 1949 with a flair for today. Chevrolet debuted their "Advanced Series" trucks to much critical acclaim. The cab was extended and raised for passenger comfort and true seating for 3. The dash showcases an updated Nordskog brand updated gauge cluster with a 120 speedometer. oil pressure gauge. water temperature gauge. and voltage gauge. The glove box and dash garnish moldings have been replaced along with the dome light. The upholstery of choice is the basic factory bench seating with restored vinyl. The headliner has also been replaced along with the door panels. The visors have also been replaced. The fuse box has been updated along with the wiring. front to back. The undercarriage showcases additional work performed. You can see the special ordered Currie 9-inch differential assembly (highway friendly) with rear drum brakes. A front disc brake setup and 5-lug conversion has also been installed. The transmission of choice is a TH350 3-speed automatic. The floor pans have been replaced along with the cab corners. The steel running boards also feature the GM-optioned steps. There is some tasteful pinstriping on the body exterior. none of it is clear-coated over. The tailgate is very unique in its own right. Check out the contrasting green pinstriping. The rear bumper was replaced with a chromed one. The rear tail lights are LED.
