Some of the nicest classics we feature are those built by folks who invest an insane amount of time and money into a project they simply love. Over the past several years. many of the world's finest Bel Air hardtops have come through our front doors. This is hands down. the finest '59 Bel Air to ever come through our facility. not to mention there really is no other comparable 1959 Bel Air built to this same caliber with this much attention to detail. Combining a mirror-like body and fire breathing 572 Big Block with a complete. frame-off pro touring built restoration riding on an Art Morrison Chassis. this award-winning Chevy is. without a doubt. one of the sweetest 59's on the planet. When you disregard all that mess about Concours' correct. factory authentic snooze mobiles your imagination and pockets really are the only limit. It's pretty evident that the original builder's pockets were deep and imagination broad as the goal here was to create one of best Bel Air's the street has ever seen. And. judging by our staff's reaction. the builders mission was certainly accomplished. If you're searching for a sizzling custom classic that features the absolute best of everything. you've found your next classic. This awesome '59 Chevy was painstakingly crafted into a first class piece of automotive art during a 4-year. high dollar restoration; and thanks to a proven GM ZZ572 Big Block and a virtually indestructible transmission. it also sports a fully-sorted drivetrain that creates the perfect platform for cross-country road trips. Looking for a hot 59 that's every bit as cool and twice as classy as a ground-up custom? This killer Bel Air is an astounding car at a price well below what it would take to build yourself (and without all the headaches!) Just hit the push button starter on the dash and GO BABY GO!Looking both modern and classy at the same time. this slick '59 Bubble top is proof that Chevrolet's decision to take a curvaceous fuselage. weld it to a sweeping roofline and decorate it with an ample amount of fine details was an excellent idea. The exaggerated designs of the late 50s and early 60s. the car's proportions are spot-on. there's appropriate use of trim. and the sharp rear fins that would eventually grow to controversial wings are fully integrated into attractive. planar surfaces. Judging by a quick glance at its profile. this Bel Air was an extremely solid piece when its high quality frame-off restoration began. But nevertheless. its body was stripped to bare metal and virtually perfected in a thorough rebuild that even included an Art Morrison Chassis with some of the largest rear wheel tubs we have ever seen here as well as a full custom interior. The car's smooth fuselage was covered in a thick coat of classy House of Kolor Sunset Orange on the bottom. and Sterling Gray Metallic paint on top then buffed to a deep and wet looking shine. The pictures. (although nice) doesn't do this car justice. This '59 Chevy is a one car parade wherever it goes garnering the attention of all envious onlookers. At the front of the car a heavy. body-width bumper hangs a satin Sterling Gray Bel Air grille between the upgraded bright halogen headlights. Above that grille. a custom hood was fabricated by tig welding in a 2005 Chevy cowl hood into the stock Belair hood making room for the monstrous 572 big block while adding an aggressive look that's second to none. While necessary. the hood styling also visually connects the car's hood with its iconic rear tail fins. The beautiful stainless Bel Air-exclusive side trim combined with upgraded custom door handles adds a finished look to the car's intimidating profile. At the top of that profile. spotless stainless trim combined with bright stainless wipers and factory stainless windshield trim complements the tinted windshield glass. And at the back of the car. peaked stainless trim. which begins at the top of fins and continues down to satin trimmed taillights. flows into a second body-width smoothed one piece custom bumper that's centered below a smooth gray trunk lid. Much of the money spent during this Chevy's recent revitalization centered on its performance and reliability meaning not only does it look good. but you can drive and enjoy it too! Lift the car's custom smoothed underside hood and you'll find a proven ZZ572 inch GM Performance crate engine embellished with some fine touches of billet upgrades. This 572 cranks out a crushing 620 horsepower the same horsepower numbers as the new 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. From the factory this fully-sorted package combines the ZZ572 with huge 4. 560-inch bores and a forged 4. 375-inch-stroke crankshaft. To make sure those cylinders are packed with every cubic centimeter's worth of atmosphere. we use a camshaft with incredible 0. 632/0. 632-inch lift and 254/264 duration specifications. Aluminum rectangular-port heads with 310-cc intake passages complement the airflow capability offered by the big-bore bottom end. They also feature 118-cc raised exhaust ports and 118-cc combustion chambers. The valves are big. too measuring 2. 250 inches on the intake side and 1. 880 inches on the exhausts. GM performance delivers the ZZ572/620 deluxe with an 850 cfm carburetor. HEI distributor. aluminum water pump. and very distinctive orange valve covers that proudly proclaim the 572 legend. Heat is suppressed by a heavy duty Griffin cross-flow radiator with dual electric fans that are equipped with a polished cap. Spent gases are jettisoned through a slick pair of Hooker competition headers. The motor keeps turning thanks to a full Vintage air serpentine system which spins a chrome alternator and chrome AC compressor between a full set of polished pulleys and a full set of polished billet brackets. The compliments keep flowing thanks to a highly detailed. well-executed. and clean engine bay which is bathed in an impressive combination of matching Sunset Orange. and Gray Satin paint. One can really appreciate the sheer amount of hours spent on the side engine bay custom panels and custom built front closure panels near the core support that helps contribute to this top of the line pro-touring build. Everything from the cars billet pulleys and billet thermostat housing. to its polished breathers and GM oversized oil pan is fully sorted. ready to show. and ready to hit the road!During its extensive restoration the car's custom built Art Morrison Chassis was bathed in a thick coat of glossy Sunset Orange paint. At the back of the torque rich Big Block. you'll find a Hughes Turbo-400 with a Gear Vendors under/overdrive. which twists thrust to Ford 9" with 3:73 Strange Engineering locker rear end that feels smooth and strong. At the rear of the Art Morrison chassis is a triangulated 4-link that holds the Ford 9" firmly planted to the ground. At the front of the chassis are the Art Morrison traditional upper and lower control arms and adjustable coil over's. slamming this car down to the appropriate stance. The power steering rack and a fresh Classic Performance Products 605 gearbox help you maneuver this big beauty around tight turns and winding roads with ease. At the corners of the chassis. fresh stainless lines shuttle fluid from a familiar Wilwood power disc brake master/booster with 7/8" bore to big 13" rotors and Wilwood 6 piston front calipers. with 4 piston wildwood rear calipers. With a proven setup like that. you'll be sure this badass ride will stop with authority! The 572 beats a killer soundtrack through a 3 inch true dual exhaust system which features an H-pipe crossover and great sounding Flowmaster super 40 mufflers. Looking to impress your friends? An interior button activates the race ready performance electric dual exhaust cut outs producing a musical score that can only be heard in person to fully appreciate. Power flows to the pavement through a sweet set of custom made 20x14 inch rear Budnik Ice Wheels which spin the fat Mickey Thompson Sportsman 29x15 rear tires. On the front it sports 19x8 Budnik rims. with BF Goodrich 235/35R19 tires. And everything. from the car's custom made one-piece front and rear bumpers to those iconic rear tail lights and fins. works in unison to create one sharp and dependable cruiser. One of this Chevy's most noteworthy features is its great looking leather interior which was stitched to match its gray body at Cassin Customizing Auto Interiors located in Woodstock IL. The supportive front leather seats and matching custom one-off sculpted rear seats are completely unique and even includes cup holders located at each side for your beverages you know. just in case your mouth gets dry from the engine extracting all the surrounding air. The custom door panels with leather wrapped arm rests and rear matching side trim panels also add class to this fine 59. Fresh custom carpets and color-keyed custom headliner with working custom billet dome light finishes this ride off from top to bottom. This supple cockpit looks almost as good as it feels. At the front of the car. a chrome-trimmed dash holds attractive silver faced auto meter gauges. and a painted Flaming River tilt steering column. with a Budnik billet steering wheel. At the base of that dash a custom built leather wrapped console holds the Alpine Navigation head unit with a Lokar shifter. billet power window switches. two more stainless cup holders. and a storage compartment to charge your cell phone in. you'll also notice that there is 3 switches in that console: the outer two are for the windows. However. take note of that middle one. it operates the race ready performance electric dual exhaust cut outs that you'll want to open as you pull into your local car show. At the sides of the car. custom billet handles ride between billet lock knobs. satin gray doorframes and custom armrests. Out back. the trunk reminds us of how big full-size cars really were and features a nice mix of high quality carpeting and well-fitted leather panels hiding the upgraded audio equipment.
