Description of 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS |
Upgraded big block power, four-on-the-floor, and all the right indicators of a true Super Sport, make this 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS true muscle car desire all dressed in black. There have been some nice investments in this coupe, and the first place you notice is the paint. It's a sleek and modern black that was laid down with care. There's a sophistication on this one that comes from the crisp body panels, bright chrome bumpers, and premium black vinyl top. Of course, you really just love this for all the right SS pieces like the Mag-style wheels, hood pins, Super Sport grille, blackout rear panel, and bold racing stripes in painted on top in a contrasting white. And muscle car people love a working cowl induction hood feeds fresh air to the beast within. The blackout presentation continues inside. There have been nice investments here in the dash, door panels, carpeting, and headliner for a well-done presentation. And of course, we all want a Chevelle with bucket seats and a center console. You'll appreciate features like the AM/FM/CD stereo for upgraded driving music, and the dash controls show this was likely born an A/C car (the system would need a full component installation to work again.) But what you'll love the most is the sporty feeing of the dual-spoke SS steering wheel that gives you a clear view to the round gauge package. And there are terrific driver upgrades, like the Sunpro column-mounted tach, auxiliary readout trio, and the Hurst T-handle shifter. The presentation under the hood is both clean and mean. This is a mighty 402 cubic-inch big block filling the engine bay. The bold block paint is accented by chrome valve covers and air topper to really draw attention. Plus, it features the right investments in added power, including a Holley four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake, and headers that add even more muscle while also contributing to the rumble of the dual exhaust. There are also nice supporting components like the steel braided lines and an aluminum radiator. The V8 fires up with gusto, and you have full control thanks to the four-speed manual transmission. We don't have the build sheet to confirm this is a true Super Sport, but it does have the correct pieces that go beyond the easily seen ones, like the round gauges. The quick ratio power steering box, 12-bolt rear end, boxed rear suspension, and rear sway bar are not only helpful, but also features you find on a true Super Sport. Add in power brakes with discs up front and BF Goodrich T/As with extra-wide rear rubber, and this is a well-done muscle car total package. This is a dark Chevelle that has the performance upgrades to back up its attitude. That makes for an irresistible total package. Call today!!! |
