Description of 1970 Chevrolet Nova Pro Street |
That big cowl hood instantly clues you in that you're in for something special with this 1970 Chevrolet Nova Pro Street. This is a full custom performance build with a fuel-injected and turbocharged 400 V8. So if you're looking for a quarter-mile king that's just legal enough to hang a license plate onto the back, dig into the details on this quality build. We'll get to the serious speed this Nova is putting down in just a moment, but first let's appreciate the style this one has, too. The Champagne Pearl paint is close to the factory's Champagne Gold except it seems to bring a brighter and more metallic shine. The big cowl hood and racing wheels do a fine job of announcing this is a powerful Chevy, and so it doesn't go overboard in wild details. Instead, you get clean lines with big chrome bumpers, good body panels, and full-length trim. So there's a thoughtful classic look that goes beyond the asphalt-eating equipment. The interior is pure professional race machine. That's why you have a Competition Engineering 8-point roll cage, high-back racing seats, and G-Force racing harnesses. The fuel cell and Optima red top battery are even in the trunk for the ideal weight distribution. The center of the car has the Hurst Quarter Stick ratchet shifter and Fast Fuel data logger CPU. All your instrument data is in the digital readout by the shifter. In fact, the only instrument ahead of the steering wheel is the very important shift light. So this is setup to make sure you get to focus on the rapidly approaching road ahead and only the essentials. There might just be no more room for any more components under the hood, because you can instantly see this is a full custom build that wastes no space. The heart of the beast is a 400 cubic-inch V8 which offers big block displacement in a small block size/weight. It has been fully built with Edelbrock Victor Jr aluminum heads, Holley 90mm throttle body, FAST fuel injection, and an Edelbrock Victor E intake. Those headers are part of a custom welding setup for the complete custom hot side/cold side piping of the 88mm Turbonetics ball bearing turbocharger. It's supported by all the right pieces, including an Edelbrock throttle body intake elbow and a CO2-fed wastegate with AMS-1000 boost controller. This is serious powerhouse, and so it needs the best supporting pieces, including an MSD ignition, electric water pump, steel braided hoses, AN fittings, and a large aluminum radiator with electric fan. The consignor is also the one who built this setup, and he has had it for 15 year to make sure it's both powerful and stout. The TH400 three-speed has a reverse manual valve body to give you full control, and that feeds a stout Ford 9-inch rear end. The power gets to the ground with wide Mickey Thompson ET Street rear tires on Weld beadlock wheels. The suspension has upgraded upper arms in front and traction bars in the rear. Stopping is even under control with the Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes setup. This is a serious build that even comes with a stack of receipts documenting the investment in stout and speedy components. So if you're looking for the ultimate turbo Nova, call today! |
