1970 Chevelle SS L78 - 396 375 hp, 4 speed, 355 12 bolt posi. Champagne Gold exterior. Black interior. All original, numbers matching drivetrain. Build sheet. Original invoice. Original title. 26k original miles.The original owner parked it in 1974 after hitting a sign and damaging the rear driver’s quarter panel. A small area was damaged but the owner went a little overboard trying to repair it himself (as you can see in the photos). It probably has not run in 46 years but the motor does turn over. Surface rust from storage exists throughout, but the frame, floors, and trunk are solid with no rust holes. There are small rust holes in both fenders as you can see in the photos. The seats, dash, and console are in excellent condition but there is no carpet (which was obviously damaged by critters given the amount of nests that were swept out). Headliner initially looked good but if you look closer you can see small holes and nests bulging in several areas. The headliner will need replaced.Only a little over two thousand L78s were produced in 1970 so they are about twice as rare as the LS5s and LS6s. Based on the L78 registry, this may likely be the only 1970 Chevelle SS L78 Code 55 in existence.Available for inspection on 9-27 from 12-5 pm in Cincinnati OH (8932 Blue Ash Rd).
