Description of 1955 Chevrolet Other Pickups 3100 |
1955 Chevy Truck. Very solid body. It's not quite a flat yellow but not quite a satin finish either. Only has small amount of work needed at the driver's side front grill. It's so small I don't know how well it will photograph. Bed frame. step sides. fenders hood are all in solid condition. The cab steps are super solid. Everything is so solid I can only assume that the floor pan is also in same condition at rest of truck. but I don't want to peel the carpet up and ruin it just to look at the floor. Box hinges are solid. Door gaps are good. No extra holes in the doors or body where people mounted different side mirrors. The antenna was taken out so that hole is still there. and another plug/cap just below from possibly what used to be a different hole for the antenna. The wood bed will need replacing. repairing but all the metal bed strips are still there. It has a front tilt hood that just needs the locking/latching mechanism installed. Right now it's held up old school style with a stick. ( also included in the sale of the truck ;) The front clip is from a 78 Jaguar. Rack & pinion. power steering. disc brakes. suspension. The benefit of the jaguar front end is that it slips right under the frame and then welded up ( pictured ). The front end isn't hacked off then something else grafted on to the fronT to complete the frame. So all the hood. fender. body panels. bumper . tc connection points are not altered when the jaguar front clip is used. The weatherstipping around the front window will need replacing eventually. The engine. automatic transmission and rear end are from a 85 Monte Carlo. I don't know if was from a Super Sport or just the base model 305 engine but the engine bay is nice and clean The tilt Steering column/wheel I believe is also out of the same Monte Carlo. Exhaust looks like dual glass packs with pipes ending at the tip of the glass packs. The shocks probably need replacing. The wheels look/work fine. One of my friends thinks they are old school Boyds but I haven't taken close look or tried to find out. It hasn't been consistently driven for a while so a tune up would be ideal. The brake lights haven't been hooked up but I'll try to get those hooked up if I can find time. The bench seat is ok good condition. fits ok. it's a later model bench seat so the tilt forward is split style. The rear bumper is great condition. the front is in ok condition. The truck has current registration good until March of next year here in California . clean title. title in hand. I am selling the truck locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early.
