Chevrolet Caprice wagon. This is a 1A2 Public Service Wagon, one of 217 built in 1994. Not many left. This is a former Augusta Maine State trooper wagon used for commercial vehicle enforcement so not some beat up, salt eaten wagon. It has manual windows and locks, the certified speedo, no cruise control and rubber floor matting instead of carpets and the third seat delete. It has the ticket light, the radio console less radios and the outside spotlight. It’s an LT-1, 4L60E trans and a 3:73 posi( added) .The wheels are aluminum Chevy truck wheels with 222/60/15 coopers. The radio works but not the CD player nor the lighter so nobody smoked in it. It has a camaro steering wheel because it’s nicer so no airbag.it has the silicone hoses on the engine and a K&N air filter upgrade. It starts every time, runs fin, shifts firm and is a blast to drive . It has a 2 second delay going into reverse which I’m told is normal. The speedo, oil pressure gauge and voltmeter are spot on. The gas gauge and temp gauge read inaccurately. I changed them but to no avail.I have replaced: radiator, water pump, thermostat, tie rods and ends, idler arm, sway bar links and bushings( it needs a front end alignment now) and u joints and straps, front window guides, rear window struts, blower motor and relay. The AC blows cold but not 40 below zero. It’s been on Mobil one for the 7 years I’ve owned it and NEVER EVER driven in rain or any inclement weather. It has a minor oil leak at the harmonic balancer. The original mufflers will need replacing, the seams are rusting. I patched them but you know how that goes. When it was in Maine it had a screen in the bac, like a cop car. It left minor screw holes when removed so you see them inside. The original paint is 26 years old and aging. I bought paint that was tinted to match the fade because I like that you can read “ State Trooper” over the front wheels and “ Commercial Vehicle Enforcement “ on the rear quarters so the paint was for the roof and hood. It goes with the wagon. The paint is scratched where the decals came off. The rear tailgate is scratched up from dragging the scales out of it while working in Maine. The rear number is cracked. When I got it I coated under it with rustproof coating called boe shield. I never drove it in bad weather . It was constantly coated under it. It has minor surface rust and the spare tire well bottom has a minor hole but this thing is decent underneath. With only 217 built in 94, there are not many left. Google “Caprice 1A2” and read up on them. This is not perfect nor am I claiming it to be a show car. But it is a decent car with a nice interior etc.. Look at the pictures. If you don’t like it or it’s not your taste, thanks for looking at it. No warranty expressed or implied, and there are no returns. I can help your shipper load it at my house if need be. The car does not leave until the check has clears the bank whether it’s certified or not. No exceptions to this. Thanks for reading this...
