The ’58 was the first year for the Impala. This was a one year body style with a one of a kind look. It was the first year for the dual headlights and the 3 Tail lights on each side. The one we have for you is powered by a 348 V8 with and Automatic Trans. It has spent most of its life in the state of GA as far as we can tell has only had 1 repaint. In the paragraphs to follow we will give a brief description of the exterior. interior. and heartbeat of the Chevy. but first we would like to tell you a little about us. Smoky Mountain Traders is a classic car dealer in east Tennessee. We are family owned. operated. and own our entire inventory. no consignments. and only deal in muscle cars and vintage auto. You can count on us to have 50 to 60 cars at all times. We don’t have a big show room that our customers would otherwise pay for. So. that’s how we can sell for less than other dealers. When you walk around this ’58 it has an arrow straight body with good lines. Everything is covered in the Colonial Cream which is the factory color for this car. It’s accented by the Tan top. The paint on this car looks great with a deep shine and a slick finish. The fit of the doors. hood. and trunk is very good. When you look at the chrome it all looks good as well as the stainless. All of the glass and seals are also in good shape. All the convertible top trim looks good and the top appears to have been replaced. This 58 has the fender skirts along with the correct Hubcaps and Wide White Tires. Next. we will take a look at the interior of the Convertible. Everything on the inside all looks correct and is believed to be the original interior. It has the bench seat and what appears to be the correct covers. The door panels. carpet. and dash looks correct. The top boot is tan to match the exterior scheme. When you look at the dash it’s correct down to the radio. Finally. we will take a look at the heartbeat of the Chevy. Under the hood it’s powered by a 348 V8 that is mated to a Powerglide Trans and the correct rear end. It has the factory manifolds with dual exhaust. When you look at the power steering it is ran off the generator which is correct for this year. It also has the right power brake booster. The best we can tell the floors look good for its age. The frame is solid with no signs of any damage. This is an unmolested car that’s been repainted to make for a killer look that’s ready to drive.
