Welcome to StreetDreamsTexas as we celebrate our 22nd year in the classic and muscle car business. The word 'legendary' is often overused these days, but no other word is as accurate when discussing a 1969 ZL-1 Camaro. Born out of the success of Jim Hall's Chaparral/Chevrolet aluminum big blocks in the Can Am racing series, the ZL-1 was suggested by Chevrolet dealer Fred Gibb as a ringer for the upcoming Pro Stock class in NHRA drag racing. Although prohibitively expensive, the ZL-1 (COPO 9560) became an instant legend and remains so to this day. Our gorgeous Le Mans Blue (71) 1969 Camaro is a worthy and thunderous tribute to these iconic beasts. Lurking beneath the correct steel ZL-2 cold air induction hood is one of only 427 GMPP Anniversary Edition 427 ci all-aluminum engines produced. Manufactured on the same tooling as the originals, these firebreathers are stuffed with goodies including a forged steel crankshaft, forged steel rods, forged aluminum pistons, a BIG hydraulic roller cam, and aluminum heads sporting enormous 2.19/1.88 intake/exhaust valves. Additional features include power steering, power front disc brakes, Vintage Air A/C, Tremec 5-speed manual transmission, tilt steering column, Rally wheels, correct Ivory and Black interior trim (727), and an AM/FM stereo. Documentation includes two large photo journals detailing the rotisserie restoration and numerous dynamometer sheets from the extensive tuning that resulted in 488 hp and 503 lb-ft of torque. An absolutely thrilling car at a fraction of the price of an original. I was at an auction a few years ago and got to see and touch one of the original 69 that sold for $600,000. This is a top-shelf tribute that will put a smile on your face and a dent in your tire budget!
