Description of 1979 Chevrolet Blazer Cheyenne K5 4x4 |
Upgraded small block power, extra tall 4x4 prowess, trail-ready features, and an upgraded interior all bring together added value to this 1979 Chevrolet Blazer Cheyenne K5 4x4. So it's especially nice to the classic convertible SUV for such a nice price. These full-size Blazers seem to have a perpetual appeal, because they start with the beefy/boxy look we love on the C10s of this generation and make them ideal. After all, they have an almost square profile that would make a short bed Silverado jealous. And the lifted stance adds to this boldness. The Copper Metallic paint has an earthy tone to it, and so it has a level of finish that won't make you cry if you come across some branches on your way through nature. And speaking of nature, while we like the look of the white fiberglass top matching the steel forward roof section, we really love this Blazers because you can remove the hardtop and be open to the world. This has the classic pieces of a premium Cheyenne, like the chrome bumpers, upgraded badging, and full-length trim. This is joined by nice upgrades like the clean grille and 15-inch alloys. Of course, the best upgrades are the ones that add function, like the six-inch lift, driver's-side step, and the proper trailer hitch. The interior is upgraded in the right places and remains vintage in the right place. For starters, the seating has been upgraded with plush leather units of a much later model Chevy Tahoe/Blazer. The carpeting, dash, and door panels all have the look of originality, right down to the wood-like trim. The dash wraps around the driver like a sports car, and the tilt steering column really give you a clear view to the gauges. And it's also an easy reach to upgrades like the AM/FM/CD stereo and factory air conditioning converted to R134a (will need servicing to blow cold again.) These Blazers are known for hardy small block power, and this one does it particularly well. It has a younger 350 cubic-inch crate V8. It inhales deeper with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock intake. Headers let this exhale with added power while feeding the rumbling dual exhaust. And if you've been looking at the engine bay, we bet you spotted the air compressor. It lets you get the air pressure low on this Kevlar-backed Goodyear Wrangler tires for the best off-road traction, and then pump them back up for regular use. And speaking of everyday use, there are nice anytime driving features like the power steering, power brakes, front discs, and recently rebuilt three-speed automatic transmission. This is the classic full-size Blazer that has a lot to offer beyond its value price. So don't let this deal slip away. Call now! |
