Description of 1951 Chevrolet Suburban Carryall |
This 1951 Chevrolet 3100 Suburban Carryall has been upgraded with a two-tone look, V8 power, and an A/C interior. And yet, it still never loses that distinctive vintage flair that makes it so attractive. You already know Chevy's Advanced Design pickups are red hot right now because of their iconic style. The Art Deco grille, alligator hood, two-piece windshield, and rounded fenders make this instantly recognizable, just like the iconic 3100-series trucks. But while there are plenty of pickups are on the classic scene, we rarely lay eyes on a Suburban Carryall - especially one as custom as this. There was a full restoration only a few years ago that's said to have started with a solid California vehicle. They took the expertly resprayed the correct Spectramaster Green on the bottom, and then added Cool Vanilla on the top half to make this a true sweet treat. And with less than 750 miles on this build since completion, it retains that vibrant and fresh look. This has a terrific classic style with new stainless, correct badging, and doors that close with confidence. And while they gray bumpers coordinate with the torque thrust style alloys, that wide and modern wheel/tire package signal this is more than just a vintage machine. Inside is a well-done package that nicely mixes plenty of upgrades with some classic style. For example, you still have the vintage Chevrolet dash, and now it's full of crisp Dolphin gauges. The classic three-spoke steering wheel it far more comfortable now that it's on a tilt column. The tasteful tan seating goes well with the gray on the dash, sides, and interior trim. Plus, you can just tell that upholstery is far more comfortable than anything that came out of the 1950s. And speaking of comfort, this classic Chevy now keeps everyone cool with cold-blowing air conditioning. There are even nice small details that make the difference, like new tempered glass and window seals. This Carryall lives up to its name with plenty of room behind the back seat, and don't forget that those rear barn door swing wide to makes this great for cargo carrying or just tailgating. Under the hood are more great upgrades. The restoration took the time to make the engine bay extra tidy. So you can really see custom pieces, like the color-matched classic Cadillac air grabber. More than just style, this one has the right substance. This Suburban was built before Chevy's mighty small block V8 era, but now this has been upgraded to a 350 cubic-inch unit. A Holley four-barrel carburetor w/electric choke means a quick start up and inhaling deeply. Plus, the headers mean exhaling with added power with feeding the new stainless exhaust. It's a package that's ready to hit the road. That's why it also has nice driving features like rack & pinion power steering, power brakes w/discs up front, and a three-speed automatic transmission. And as you check out the fresh undercarriage, you'll also spot the upgraded independent front suspension with tubular arms and adjustable coilovers. They make the for a much more enjoyable experience going down the road. You get rarity and distinction in a restored package built for cruising. So you know you don't want to let this Suburban slip away. Call today!!! |
