Description of 1965 Chevrolet Corvette L76 327/365hp

Goldwood Yellow w/Black interior, L76 327/365hp, 4-speed manual transmission.
Going into its third year of production, the ’65 Corvette was really coming into its own. This was a milestone year for Corvette. A year of firsts . . . and lasts. Four-wheel disc brakes were introduced in ’65, as was the legendary big-block engine; coming in at a one year only 396ci displacement. One the way out was mechanical fuel injection and drum brakes, which were offered as a “credit delete” on a small number of ’65’s just to get rid of the remaining drum brake inventory.
There were no less than six engines to choose from this year. The most ever offered in a Corvette! From the base 327/250hp small block to the mighty 396/425hp big block and just about everything in between! Carbureted to fuel injected. Hydraulic to mechanical lifters, automatics to 4-speed manual transmissions! You want it? You got it!
One of the lesser-known, now, but popular in the day engine choices was the L76 327 with 365hp. The was basically the same as the L84 327 fuel-injected engine, but with a more user friendly, if not less exotic 4bbl Holley carburetor replacing the fuelie unit. Mated up to a 4-spd. transmission, this was the hot set-up for ’65. A high-revving, torquey engine that was a blast to take through the gears! It was also the last year it was offered.
Striking is the word that comes to mind when looking at this Goldwood Yellow L76 Convertible. The beautiful (and rare) exterior color is nicely contrasted with a Black vinyl interior and is crowned with a White soft top. It rolls on Gold wall radial tires with bright spinner wheel covers. Other options include; power 4-wheel disc brakes and AM/FM radio. It’s been completely frame-off restored and is an N.C.R.S. Top Flight Award winner! This is the car you cruise Pacific Coast Hwy. in on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Comes with maintenance receipts, N.C.R.S. Shipping Data Report, the Top Flight Award, and more.
