1961 C-10 Step Side Long Bed

I bought Truckit was a True Barn Find, Been in Barn Alton Il. Since 1980, I have copy of where owner Bought in 10/1963.

Truck is very Solid & a Pleasure to drive, original Patina……

Here is What I have Done.

Engine

·Adjusted Valves & Replaced Valve Cover gasket.

·Tuned up – Wires, Plugs, Points, Condenser, Cap, ignition Coil.

·New Fuel Tank & lines.

·Repaired Starter, Drive & Brushes.

·New Exhaust from Front to Rear.

·Degreased Multiple time to clean off 59 Years of Crud.

Drive Train

·Clutch, Pressure Plate, Throw out Bearing.

·Shift Linkage Grommets, along with adjusting linkages.

·Replaced Speedometer Cable.

· Replaced 2 -3 shift fork, slave clutch cylinder.

Brakes

·Shoes were good.

·Replaced all Wheel cylinders & Rubber hoses where needed.

·New Slave Cylinder.

·New Fluid & bled.

·Replaced emergency brake cables.

Interior

·Replaced Seat Cover with Original Similar Material(Gray Vinyl) & Foam.

·Installed Digital Stereo that fits in original Dash hole.

·Replaced all Heater Cables repaired levers.

·Replaced floor vents in kick panels.

·Replaced Sun visors & Rear View Mirror.

·Replaced Glove Box Liner.

·Replaced horn Button components & Horn Relay.

·Dash Bulbs Replaced in instrument cluster.

·New Original Style Full Rubber Mat with insulation pads under.

·New Sill Plates.

Body

·Truck came new with NO REAR BUMPER, I installed new Rear Chrome Bumper & Brackets, License Plate Bracket W/Light.

·Rally Wheels with New Chevrolet Centers. (I have original Steel wheels 5 Spare included) & hub caps (Badly Rusted)

·New Wiper Arms & Blades.

·Ordered New Bed Floor Kit & installed, Oak with New Stainless Strips & all new Stainless Bolts. (Did not Finish with Stain or Clear, wanted it to look more original)

·Headlamp Dimmer replaced.

·Replaced High Beam Headlamps & got all light operating as should.

If you like, New Reproduction Sheet metal is readily available, Front Fenders, Braces, Inner Fender, Rocker Panels, Lower Door Repair panels. All for about $900, I just don’t want to be the one to destroy the Patina…….
