You just can't go wrong with a Corvette, and there's definitely a lot to like about this 1960 Corvette resto-mod! Enjoyed by the same enthusiast for 41 of its 60 years, this slick C1 is the product of a body-off, nut-and-bolt restoration that's seen scant miles outside of a garage. Blemish-free surfaces reflect a glossy coat of era-correct Honduras Maroon two-stage. And that pigment looks great continued across a factory hardtop. One of the most well rounded powerplants Chevy has ever offered, this Vette's proven LS3 utilizes aluminum construction, L92-style heads and a smooth hydraulic roller cam to create 430 horsepower and 425 lb./ft. of torque. Beneath that mill, a sturdy Corvette Correction chassis that makes excellent use of a full fourth-generation Corvette suspension. Those bones, lovingly supplemented with composite mono leafs, cage a tough Tremec 6-speed. That gearbox deals power to a spry Dana 44 differential which, according to the car's owner, spins fun, 3.45 gears. Turns come courtesy of modern power rack-and-pinion steering. Smooth and solid stops are provided by fourth-generation Corvette discs. And torque meets the pavement through chromed, sixth-generation Corvette-style blades and Michelin Pilot Sports. Between this Chevy's doors, you'll find a stylish leather cockpit that's simple, purposeful and ready for long rides. Front and center, heated buckets stretch tight Al Knoch hides across clean Al Knoch carpet. In front of the driver, a rich-looking dash hangs crisp Dakota Digital VHX telemetry next to modern, direct-fit audio and controls for Vintage Air conditioning. And the driver feels the road through a short shifter and a stylish, speed-drilled steering wheel.
