GR Auto Gallery is pleased to bring to market this highly restored, Resto-mod 1968 Camaro for your consideration. The car was purchased by the owner in 1986 for next to nothing. The original color was Corvette Bronze with black stripes. Over the next few years the car was restored with limited funds and had a 396 v8 in it for some time. As time went on the car was put on the "back burner" and stuffed in the garage. Once the time was right, the owner decided to get back to his project and give it a full on rotisserie restoration and build a brand new car. The original Muncie, 12 bolt and 4 piston disc brake system that were mandatory on a Z/28 were sold off. Once on the rotisserie, all the sheet metal was removed and completely replaced and Kevlar coating was sprayed on the entire interior, floor, firewall and trunk as was the underside. The car was then assembled and painted. The Camaro received a stout custom 496 v8 that was built and Dynoed by Robbins Racecraft. Everything was meticulously done with the best of the best internal goodies. It is a full roller engine with gear drive, MSD e-curve distributor, Holley Sniper EFI and a serpentine belt system. The transmission is a Legend SS700 5 speed toploader which shifts beautifully. The rear end is a Ford 9 inch with 4.56 gears and a Detroit True Trac posi unit. It has 4 wheel power disc brakes as well as a quick ratio power steering gear box out of a 1980s Iroc that is only 2 turns lock to lock. It also has aftermarket AC by classic auto air. It also has a line lock, MSD shift light and CalTracs. This is a well mannered 10 second daily driver that makes 692 HP on pump gas.
