Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210. 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air 2Dr Ht HO350 345 HP 5-Speed Condition: Used VehicleDescription History: I acquired this 1956 Chevy in 1980, then kept it in sunny Florida ever since. TheEXTERIORis restored to original condition except for cool wheels & tires. All new window glass, seals, bolts, screws, washers, nuts, clips, shims, fuel tank and lines. New head & tail & backup lights, emblems, V’s, hood bird, grille, mirrors, antenna, TheINTERIORis restored to mostly original condition except for these mods. TheDRIVETRAINis high performance muscle car-oriented yet car club cruise-able. The ZZZ PN 10134338 has 4-bolt mains, aluminum cylinder heads (like the L98 Corvette engine), a Z28 high-rise dual-plane aluminum intake manifold, hypereutectic 9.8:1 pistons, forged steel crank and rods, and a single-pattern 235-degree hydraulic camshaft with 0.480-inch lift. The ZZZ is rated at 345 hp (with 650 CFM carb) right out of the crate.Adding a 750-CFM carb and an Edelbrock Performer RPM Air Gap intake, and this engine makes 370 hp with 410 ft-lb of torque. Adding the GM hydraulic roller Hot Cam and this engine will produce 400 hp and on pump gas. Pretty cool. The transmission is a DougNash/Richmond“STREET 5-SPEEDâ€. (i.e., the 4 + 1) It is a “close ratio†in gears 1 - 4(3.27, 2.13, 1.57, 1.23), with 5thgear at 1:1. Itallows a lowerrear-end ratio of 3.08 and still have aclose ratio transmission capable ofaccelerating like a Muncie M21 with4.11 rear-end gears. The Street 5-Speed allows enthusiasts to use a 3.08 rear-end in 5thgear for highway cruising and still get the awesome close ratio 1 - 4 off the line acceleration of a M21/4.11 combo. This works great. The rear-end is a 79 Camaro 10-bolt 8.5†model. It is a restored “posi-traction†rear, with 3.08 gear that is an ideal match to the above Doug Nash 5-speed. New wheel bearings, seals and complete new brake parts. OtherMECHANICALcomponent enhancements below were added to improve this 56 classic. All new wiring harnesses, fuse panel, fuses, gauges, alternator conversion, starter, and trunk mounted battery. A high-performance Griffin polished aluminum cross-flow radiator system with A/C condenser & dual electric fans. A Classic Performance Products (CPP) improved bolt-in 500 Series re-circulating ball Power Steering Box that features an improved steering operation and response, as well as a tighter turning radius overall feel without excessive sway. A late model Ecklers Front Disc Brake kit. (rotor, caliper, pad, booster, master cylinder and proportioning valve) A Rain Gear electric windshield wiper system with intermittent modes and windshield washer features.
