Description of 1972 Chevrolet C-10 Cheyenne Restomod |
It's got rugged, timeless looks, augmented with a flashy set of wheels and combined with all the road-readiness you could want via a modern 5.3L LS V8 Vortec . This 1970 Chevrolet C10 Custom Deluxe Restomod carries all the classic styling cues that made the second generation of Chevy's C10 line such a winner when it was introduced, along with some well-chosen visual and performance touches that blend in perfectly with their vintage backdrop. As the '60s were giving way to the next decade, Chevy embarked on a fairly extensive do-over of its respected trucks, not only giving them a more modern appearance than what they had carried just before, but also adding an apt new nickname to go along with it - the Action Line. True to its model's original intent, this '72 seems plenty ready for vigorous activity - it's had the good fortune to have had its vintage look left largely intact, but with some great added touches also joining the mix to up its visual vitality level. The dark blue metallic and white color scheme now draped over its exterior is a great fit - the two-tone combo really pops in person and offers a strong shine. A stock egg-crate grille anchors things up front, looming over a table straight front bumper and joining a collection of brightwork that's in uniformly clean condition. This vintage truck's sturdy foundation has served it well, supporting an exterior that, after nearly a half century of faithful service, remains in very good alignment - both the big hood and the doors sport nice even gaps, and open and shut easily. Cheyenne level wood trim and badges spruce things up inside, although by the looks of the options sticker in the glove box, this beauty was born as a Custom Deluxe. Nevertheless, the look is awesome, especially with the truck sitting low on those big aftermarket wheels. Much like the exterior, the interior has benefitted from a very nice refurbishing that's left it still holding onto a suitably vintage appearance. The white houndstooth covering over the bench seat mixes vinyl and cloth to good effect - it's become a "go to" update for a number of classic Chevys for good reason and it's well-represented here. Counter to the C10's workmanlike intent, plush carpeting sits below and it's in very solid condition, ornate door panels with Cheyenne-spec Western Scroll are at the flanks, and warm woodgrain applique found throughout really warms things up inside. An aftermarket 3-spoke steering wheel now occupies the column, while the dash area in front of it sports what appears to be a fresh instrument panel filled with clear, readable digital/analog gauges, as well as a supple-looking black dash pad across the top. A retro-style AM/FM/AUX stereo sits at its center, teaming with upgraded speakers to provide great sound in the cabin, and with R134a refrigerated air blowing through the A/C system, the cab is also a very comfortable place to be. If a rock-solid running condition under frequent driving is a priority for you, this pickup should move up your "must see" list - the 5.3L LS V8 Vortec engine standing by under the big hood is really running strong. It was swapped-in seamlessly and outfitted with all the modern goodies, as well as a Vortec intake cover, custom valve covers and a cold-air intake tube with a cone filter for increased visual flair. It sounds great thanks to a set of long-tube headers that feed into an H-pipe dual exhaust with Magnaflow mufflers, and a giant aluminum radiator up front keeps the whole show nice and cool. The powerplant teams with a smooth-shifting 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and with both power steering and power front disc brakes on board, this sharp looking C10 really drives nicely on its killer set of 20-inch US Mag wheels outfitted with 255/35/20 front and 315/35/20 rear performance tires. Whether faithfully carrying you to your work site in vintage style or bearing the burden of your weekend warrior pursuits, this 1972 Chevrolet C10 Restomod is ready for action. Call today! |
