Description of 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible |
This 1967 Chevrolet Corvette convertible has its numbers-matching V8, four-on-the-floor, and side pipes. So it's already quite desirable before you see the awesome color combo of the one-year only paint. This is the kind of convertible that gets collectors excited. After all, 1967 was the final year for the C2 Sting Ray, and this vette was originally born in Goodwood Green, which was a single-year offering. Bart Starr was even given a Goodwood Green Corvette for winning the first ever Super Bowl! This vette was given a two-year restoration completed in 2006. Not only was it given a quality re-spray then, but it was done in a few shades darker to a more modern medium metallic. The consignor also claims there was a ceramic coating done in 2018. It gives this sunshine-friendly convertible a nice gloss in the light. These final-year C2s are free from some of the ornamentation of previous years, and so the crisp body panels really let you appreciate how this is the sleekest of the family. But sleeker doesn't mean it misses out on brightwork. The two-piece chrome bumpers, full window trim, and 15-inch wheels looks nice against the deep green paint. And those side pipes are an awesome piece of this C2's sporting legacy that let you hear it every time you fire this one up. The white convertible top looks distinctive against the green paint, but for the best color combo, you need to take it down. After all, the factory-correct saddle interior against the Goodwood Green exterior has a European-like level of sophistication. They invested nicely in here to get this feeling like day-one status, right down to details like the weave of the carpeting and bright knobs on the AM/FM stereo. Even the clock was part of this car's restoration. When you sit in the low-back bucket seats and grab the chrome shifter, the atmosphere instantly gets nostalgic. The woodgrain steering wheel feels great (power steering), and all the gauges show crisp markings that let you keep an eye on the engine's status. Under the hood is the numbers-matching L79 327 cubic-inch V8. The whole engine bay has a great stock-style look to it, but there have also been the right investments along the way. The motor was rebuilt during the restoration, and it was given newer items like a starter and Holley four-barrel carburetor. Plus, the full setup was given a tune-up within the last few months to keep this a strong runner. The four-speed manual transmission was given a new clutch during the restoration, and the consignor states this feeds a 3.73 Positraction rear end. The fully independent suspension gives this sharp moves, and the four-wheel disc brakes were given new calipers and pads for proper stopping power. This is a Corvette of true distinction that was also restored to remain a strong runner. This sale comes with the owners manual, protect-o-plate, and restoration receipts. That makes for a terrific package you need to get your hands on right now. Call today!!! |
