Description of 1951 Chevrolet Other Pickups Five Window

  • General–What we have here is a 1951 Chevrolet, 3600, cab/chassis. Yes, it has a clean notarized and transferable title. This truck came out of the northern Montana wheat farm/ranch territory. The 1947 thru 1955 “Advanced Design” Chevy is one of the most sought after of all collector pickups, of these the most coveted is the five window design. However, any more these trucks pretty much fall into two categories: the first being a total basket case, beyond restoration, and good only for parts. The second category is one which is already restored and well beyond most budgets. This is the hard to find in between and is an excellent candidate for either restoration or to hot rod, however if the latter is your plan, I do not want to hear about it.

Mechanical-The key is still in the switch, the engine spins over and might run. The engine, transmission, clutch, and differential are all present and I believe are original. Under the hood seems like a time chamber, nothing destroyed nor missing. The engine oil is clean, no water or debris. The truck still maintains it’s 6 volt system. Beyond this I just do not know, as I have never driven the truck,

Exterior- Awesome patina. The truck, is sold as a fivewindow cab/chassis Back in the day many Montana farmer/ranchers would buy a cab/chassis and then install their own custom built grain box, flatbed, water tanker, weed sprayer, wrecker, or whatever. When the old truck was set aside, the bed would then transfer to the next new truck. That seems to be the case with this little 51. In its configuration you can go any direction you want. The truck has an additional set of helper springs so it can do some work for you. The truckis the very rust free, only the cab corners and a little on the floor. No matter whether restoration or hot rod is your goal, you are money and time ahead by starting with as solid and rust fee vehicle as you can possibly find, (see pictures). The truck does have 72 years of dents, dings, cracks, welds, and blemishes. All tires hold air, plus once the reserve is met I will include five wheels which I had powder coated gloss black and the lock rings powder coated silver.

Interior– Not much to talk about here. The seat frame and springs are still there and enough of the original seat cover which is what your upholster will need if you go back original All gages and instruments are present. Neither the dash nor doors have been cut or modified in any way. Look at the pictures of the floor, seldom will you see floors in these old trucks this clean and rust free.Three windows are cracked, and one is plexiglass. The interior of this truck is all there; if you are going for an original restoration - clean it, sand it, and paint it.If you are going for a hot rod, then you probably already have your own ideas.

Summary –The simplicity of an old pickup is what makes it's restoration so popular and easy. This one would make a great project for a father and son/daughter, the guys in the shop, or whoever. The old truck deserves another chance in life to show up at your local car show, or for work with your business logo, race team, or cause on the doors.

Payment, Disclaimers, Storage, and Transportation- I require a nonrefundable deposit of $500.00 within 48 hours preferably by PayPal, and the remainder by bank to bank or cashier’s check or cash in person, prior to me sending you the title. Well, I have tried to represent the old truck as honestly and accurately as I can; please read this ad thoroughly and look closely at the pictures. The truck is sold as is, where is, and with no guarantee nor warrantee implied or specified.Make no mistake the truck is still a project, anddid I mention it is a five window. I am very proud of my 100% eBay customer satisfaction rating and will answer questions. I will post some of them so that others may benefit. The truck is stored in a secure compound and can remain so if you pay the rent of $45 per month. If you send after the truck, I will help your shipper in any way I can. You should advise your shipper the truck does not move under its own power.

Good luck with your bidding, and thank you for your time spent in reading my ad.
