1964 - 1967 Grand Sport Corvette D&D Kit Car

Update 9-9-2023 – Just completed updating the Coil Over Springs and Modifying the Sway Bar Clevis Joints to Spherical Rod End. Added Bracing for the Front Spoiler and Radiator Support.

I have a Grand Sport Replica manufactured and built by D & D Corvette of Akron, Ohio ( as I was Told and have a Bill of sale Stating that.). Company was re-established as Mongoose Motorsports, LLC, Ohio. As of June 2023, Mongoose Motorsports has stopped supporting and manufacturing Grand Sport Replicas.

I Purchased this in November of 2021 as a Project with the intent of completing it, time permitting? Times have changed and so its time to offer this to someone who can take it to the next step. Modify it to their liking and complete it. I have almost every item to complete the build except for Header Side Pipes, Windshield Wiper Motor and Emergency Brake assembly.

Body

My Corvette Grand Sport body is in Primer and has areas that have been addressed for finishing. The GS Coupe has a Plexiglas Rear Window with clips to secure it. The front Windshield is from a C2 corvette and is Glass with the Rubber seal. TheSide Windows are Glass and are Electrically Operated. They have the Guides and Trim. Interior has C2 HP Instrument Cluster with Glove Box. Steering Column is an original 64 with a replica Steering Wheel. Seats are Summit Racing seats. I have a C2 Rear Glass Window and an extra Glass side Window. Have all interior trim pieces, and Lexan Covers for front head lights.

Chassis

4 inch round tube chassis designed to utilize C4 suspension components. Power 4-wheel C4 disc brakes. All new Brake Lines, Master Cylinder with New & Rebuilt Wheel Calipers. Rack and Pinion steering with adapter to link to original steering column. Coil over shocks. Saddle Type Gas Tank. New Electric fuel pump and Filter, with all new Braded fuel lines. Rear Trunk mounted battery. Custom Brake & Clutch Pedals and linkage.

Drive-train

I have a SBC that is a fresh rebuild. Bored .030 over with a 1182 Steel Crank 010/010 with H Beam Rods and 11.5 Pistons. All new Rings and Bearings. Road Race Oil pan with High Pressure oil pump and special pick up. Heads are Angle Plug 202 Rebuilt, that have been ported and polished. SS Rocker arms and new solid lifters and push rods. Cam is a solid lifter 1st GM Road Race cam, .500 lift. Victor JR intake with a 750 Holley. New Tach Drive distributor and wires. High flow aluminum radiator with electric fan. I have a used Clutch, Flywheel, PP and Bell Housing from an early C4 Corvette tied to a used Super T10 Trans with a Hurst Competition Shifter. Has a DANA 36 rear end with 2.59 Gear ratio. Exterior oil cooler with Adapter and Lines, not hooked up. I was Planning on running Competition Header side pipes, but new owner may have something else in mind.

Misc.

I Have a universal wiring harness and wiring for the headlights and taillights. All documentation from past two owners. See Mongoose website as this GS is almost Identical to the ones they have built.
