Description of 1950 Chevrolet Styleline Deluxe |
1950 Chevrolet Styleline Deluxe Convertible One of the few that are left. 73 years old and still retains the stock look with many restorations in its life. Could be a movie car. It’s a six passenger with room for four more in the trunk (for the drive in theater). With my beautiful collection everyone goes over to this car, and they say “WOW.” Hardly anyone has seen one. The looks you get at car shows or just cruising down the road!! The paint and body are fabulous with no rust showing on the paint with very minor blemishes. Finished in Oxford Maroon – who knows when. The chrome and stainless look brand new. The power convertible top is vinyl and in great shape with a real glass rear window. The top goes up and down fine. The interior is great. All the gauges work, the emergency brakes and windshield wiper work – even the clock works – the tube radio does not but there is an am/fm stereo cassette in the original speaker department. The added on turn signals work – turn signals didn’t come with the car back then. It is a three on the tree with the shifting adjusted perfectly. It has been converted to 12 volt. The horn is a button on the dash and works. The glass is great. The left rear window wants to hang up once in a while. I don’t really care since I drive it with the top down. The trunk area is very nice. It has a spare tire, jack, and hub cap removal tool. Interior and trunk lights work as well as the hood light. The tires are Coker radials. It even has curb feelers. Now for the mechanics, the original 216 engine was replaced with a 1954 Chevrolet 235 6 cylinder a T54 block with 3835913 heads with dual exhaust. The first year for a high-pressure oil system. Runs great, no smoke. Maintenance I have done this last year:
It has a manual choke and throttle cable (1950 cruise control). Starts up easy. Armstrong steering. See all the pictures. This is a family cruiser and a lot of fun. Call Bob at 860-391-1688 with any questions. You are welcome to inspect the car before purchase. Located in a suburb of Austin, TX. |
