This 1979 Chevrolet Corvette is a stunning example of a modified vehicle that has undergone updates to its exterior, interior, and drivetrain. Vehicle Details LS3-Powered 1979 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe This 1979 Chevrolet Corvette coupe was subsequently fitted with a General Motors Performance Parts crate 6.2-liter LS3 V8 and 4L70E four-speed automatic transmission as well as 1982-style front and rear fiberglass fascia’s, LED exterior lights, and Van Steel suspension components. The car has been refinished in gray and features an L88-style vented hood, power steering, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, adjustable coil overs, 18″ Cosmis XT-005R wheels, Billy Boat exhaust headers, OBX side pipes, Vintage Air climate control, AutoMeter instrumentation, Infinity Kappa speakers, and an Android touchscreen infotainment system. This C3 corvette is now offered with a car cover, a 2017 service record, and a clean North Carolina title in the seller’s name. There is a loan to be paid off on vehicle. The fiberglass body was repainted metallic gray in 2010. Exterior features include removable roof panels, an L88-style vented hood, 1982-style front and rear fiberglass fascia’s, LED headlamps and exterior lights, body-colored mirrors, OBX side pipes, electric headlamp motors, fender vents, and tinted windows. There are chips, cracks, and scratches in the paint that are shown in the gallery, and the left window has scratches, and the windshield has chips. The 18″ Cosmis XT-005R wheels have gray centers and polished barrels and are mounted with 275/40 Nitto NT555 G2 tires. The car is equipped with power steering, and work under current ownership consisted of installing replacement u-joints, a VBP spreader bar, and Van Steel adjustable front and rear coilovers, tubular front A-arms, offset rear trailing arms, and front and rear sway bars. Braking is handled by a Wilwood master cylinder and calipers along with drilled and slotted rotors. The bucket seats are trimmed in black leather, and additional features include Vintage Air climate control, aftermarket cup holders, Corvette-branded floor mats, Infinity Kappa speakers, a backup camera, and an Android-based touchscreen infotainment system. The seller notes that the side windows require adjustment and the left front seat cushion cover is worn. The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames an AutoMeter 120-mph speedometer, tachometer, and fuel level gauge. Three auxiliary gauges are mounted in the center stack and two are mounted to the cowl panel. The digital odometer indicates 1k miles, all of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The replacement GM Performance Parts crate 6.2-liter LS3 V8 was installed in 2018 and was factory rated at 525 horsepower. Features include a modified Vararam GTO cold air intake, an upgraded alternator, a Holley serpentine accessory bracket, Custom Image Corvette engine and transmission mounts, Billy Boat side-outlet exhaust headers, and a Tilden Motorsports wiring harness. Cooling is handled by a DeWitts aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a GM Performance Parts crate 4L70E four-speed automatic transmission and a Positraction rear axle. A Circle D torque converter and driveshaft safety loop were installed under current ownership, and the driveshaft and half-shaft U-joints were replaced. Differential was rebuilt by Hawks Motorsports and upgraded to a 3.70 gear. New Posi unit and New Axle stubs along with the new Ring & Pinion Kit. Has brand new Fast LSXR 102 intake along with a new 103 black Nick Williams throttle body. Then was returned by Hawks Motorsports. Windows need to be adjusted properly. Does come with 2 extra used side glass pieces.
