1950 Chevrolet GASSER 403 GM Pontiac Oldsmobile Turbo 350 Good Start

Description: 1950 Chevrolet ‘Business’ Coupe “Gasser”, that has been a long-time project and must be sold. It has seen limited street use (for testing purposes only) and is about 75% complete.

a rebuilt 1979 “GM” 403 c.i. engine which came out of a Pontiac Trans Am. It was built to run on pump gas and has a mild Comp Cams hydraulic camshaft along with an Edelbrock carb and intake manifold. An oversized aluminum radiator and thermostatically controlled fan keeps the engine cool, and the ignition is an HEI. Sanderson headers with a custom exhaust complete the motor. Fuel system is new from the tank to the pump.

The matching Turbo 350 3-speed automatic which came from the same donor car was rebuilt to stock specs. The rear differential is from a ’55 Chevrolet and is running 3.08:1 (open) gears.

The paint and bodywork were completed before the owner purchased the car and it appears solid except for some painted over rust in the forward rear quarter panels. The hood scoop is an Offenhauser item, and the window tint is an adhesive.

Using the stock frame, a 1950-52 Chevrolet truck front axle was used to give the Chevy its Gasser look along with Rocket 15” x 4” front wheels. The steering box is from a 1968 Chevelle. The brake system, including lines and hardware, are new.

The wiring is new and appears complete.
