This Rally Sport features a tastefully warmed up 350 V8 engine. a 4-speed manual transmission. F41 Special Performance Suspension. an original very rare factory Firethorn Cloth interior. a beautiful professional repaint. factory build sheet. and is truly special being a 1977 Camaro Rally Sport. Also featured are the incredible original rally wheels. new true dual exhaust. and a very clean body and frame. This Rally Sport is completely solid as one can see in the many photos of the underside. We have also included other specific photos of the areas most prone to rust to show how clean this car is. The car has always been stored inside and was not rusty before the one repaint. It looks great. runs awesome. and is fun to drive. especially with the F41 suspension and 4-speed rowing through the gears on a beautiful day. This Rally Sport is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Red and Black two tone paint over Firethorn Cloth interior. This is the factory original color scheme as verified on the trim tag and build sheet both pictured below. If you have a question about the Camaro. just give us a call. model description With Camaro outselling the Mustang for the first time ever. it was clear that car-buyers had grown tired of the completely redesigned Mustang II that had been introduced in 1974. Though it had very high sales in its first two years. these dried up quickly as the car-buyers apparently disliked the transition of the car from the original pony car to a compact car. In reality. the Camaro was the only pony still being produced other than its corporate cousin. the Firebird. In fact. the Rally Sport and reintroduction of the Z28 was largely seen as a response to the continued success of the Trans Am Firebird. Both of these cars would continue to sell well throughout the 1970s. as they were the only pony cars left after the Mustang’s transformation and the discontinuation of the AMC Javelin. Dodge Challenger and Plymouth Barracuda. condition Exterior The Red and Black exterior is in beautiful condition. One professional repaint over original sheet metal was performed on this Rally Sport and it looks great. The car was very rust free prior to the repaint according to the previous owner. just some minor door dings and rock chips needed addressed. As one can see in the photos. the paint has a brilliant gloss. deep shine. and smooth finish. Often times many Camaro's will have particularly chipped up front ends. as one can see in the photos this car does not and the front end is in good shape. Both bumpers are original and in good condition although the front bumpers has some light blemishes. There are no major imperfections that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. There may be some very faint blemishes around the car that were too small to show up in the photos. but nothing that is really noticeable from about five feet away. The tires are in great shape with approximately 80% tread remaining. The original rally wheels are in excellent shape. shine nicely. and have no curb rash. The trunk is very solid and rust free and comes with a nicely made custom trunk mat. All weather-stripping including window sweeps and trunk seal are in good condition. The Camaro looks just as good in person as it does in the photos. Interior The original Firethorn Cloth interior of this Rally Sport looks utterly splendid. The original seat covers still look very good with no rips. split seems. or signs of excessive wear. The carpet appears to be original as well and in great shape with no major stains. tears. or holes. The original dash is in good condition with no dash cracks or fading. but is slightly warped in the middle and backside which is very common on Camaro's of this era. The Pioneer digital cassette stereo with newer 6x9 speakers sounds amazing in the car. All of the gauges work as they should. with the obvious exception of the clock. also the horn and dome light are not currently working. The original door panels look fantastic with no excessive wear. and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The Headliner is in excellent shape with no stains or sagging and was recently replaced. The package tray looks good with no fading or warping. This car has no aroma of cigarettes what so ever. Both front seat belts operate well and retract correctly. which is a very common problem on GM cars from this era and a small detail many buyers do not check. These Camaro interiors are not know to wear well and the excellent condition of this original interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care and attention this car has received throughout its life. The interior looks just as good in person as it does in the photos. Mechanical This Rally Sport is in great mechanical condition. It is an exceptional driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds especially with the F41 suspension. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph. braking. and going through some curves. Please note that it shifts well. runs great. there are no strange vibrations. and the car performs quite nice overall. It starts right away every time. idles well. and runs excellent. The car shifts nicely and does not pop out of gear. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. This Camaro really handles nicely. Also. the engine is clean and beautifully detailed as one can see from the photos. Some tasteful performance upgrades were added to this Rally sport and really make the driving experience more fun such as: Hooker headers. Edelbrock intake. A mild performance Cam . Accel HEI distributor. and finished with a new set of valve covers with a matching K&N air filter. The blower for the heater and a/c works on all speeds. The wipers. the speedometer. odometer. fuel gauge. voltage light. and temperature light all work as they should. This Rally Sport has true dual exhaust with no catalytic converter and has a nice healthy exhaust note at idle and cruising speeds. The parking brake works and holds the car. There is a very slight exhaust leak on the passenger side noticeable at idle. The horn does not work. The a/c works and one can view the compressor engaging properly in the video below. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car. especially with the 4-speed transmission on a beautiful day. Overall Condition Overall. this 1977 Rally Sport in superb condition. The 4-Speed transmission. rarity. build sheet. and the original cloth interior in such amazing shape make this Camaro especially important and hard to duplicate. It is a great value and we have it priced to sell. This car turns heads and gets tons of attention wherever it goes. The value of these second generation "F-Body" cars has gone up exponentially in recent years. They are all solid investments for a collector or the average enthusiast. Cars like this are the Barrett Jackson and Mecum stars of the future. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.
