Description of 1979 Chevrolet Camaro

1979 Camaro Z28 Matching Numbers. 350 4 Barrel engine with Factory 4 Speed. 3. 90 Posi. nicely Optioned with Power Steering. Power Disc Brakes. Power Windows. Power Door Locks. Tilt Steering Column. Air Conditioning. Optional Tan Cloth Bucket Seat Interior with Factory 4 Speed Floor Console. Tach & Gauges. Factory Turbine Mag Wheels with nice BF Goodrich T/A Radial Tires and Rear Window Louvers. JVC CD Stereo with Remote & Quality Pioneer Speakers. All of the Gauges work from the Tachometer. Speedometer. Odometer. AMP/Battery. Water Temperature & Gas Gauge. Original Clock doesn't work. The Headlights. Brake Lights. Turn Signals. Parking Lights. Side Marker Lights. Interior Dome Light & Dash Lights all work. Heater/Defroster and Blower Motor work as do the Windshield Wipers. Power Windows work fine although the Power Door Locks are sticky and should be looked(easy fix) at although the Doors Lock and Unlock both Manually and with the Keys. The Doors open and close nicely with no serious sagging or worn hinges. The Tilt Steering Column works fine. The car is very Original overall with it's Matching Numbers Engine and Transmission which both have the partial Vin Number stampings. The Original Dash Vin and Original Door Vin Decal are in place and they match the Vin Stamped 350 4 Barrel engine and 4 Speed Manual transmission. The Original Cowl Tag shows the Original Code "69" Dark Brown Metallic Paint and the Code "62C" Tan Custom Cloth Bucket Seat Interior. the Z28 Package is also shown on the Cowl Tag. This 1979 Camaro Z28 was repainted one time in it's Original Dark Brown Metallic and the paint still shows nicely for a cruiser or weekend Cruise Night car but is not without some nicks. scratches and a couple of minor dings. The car starts easily with it's Numbers & Date Code Correct Original Rochester Quadrajet Carbureter and the choke still operates as it should going to high speed idle upon cold starts and then kicking down as the engine warms up. This 1979 Camaro Z28 has had a few bolt on modifications done by it's third owner which include a pair of Edelbrock Aluminum Valve Covers. Edelbrock Aluminum Intake Manifold. Edelbrock Air Cleaner and a nice Pair of Exhaust Headers which run back to a full dual exhaust which exits just like the factory original exhaust. The engine starts easily on cold or hot starts and runs beautifully with absolutely no smoke or unusual noises. The engine runs perfectly through all of the gears and makes plenty of power with no hesitation or issues. The engine runs nice and cool with no overheating issues. The 4 Speed Transmission shifts perfectly with no problems with it's Factory Original Shifter and Original 4 Speed Shift Knob. . no issues with popping out of gear and no problems getting into any gears. no grinding. no problems! The Clutch works as it should with no slipping and no chatter. The car drives up the road nicely and steers as it should. stops just fine and is a good driver or fun weekend cruiser. not a show car but a good reliable Original Z28 that's loads of fun to drive. The body is fairly solid with floors that look nice and solid although there was a small repair done to the drivers front floor pan. the rest of the floor pans looks nice and solid. The interior is Original and is in pretty nice original condition although the cloth inserts on the seats will need a good cleaning. The seats are not torn up and they are still nice and firm but they need some cleaning as there is some staining on the cloth inserts. The Door Panels are in good shape and the Instrument Cluster is very nice. all of the Dash Components are intact and in good original condition. The Headliner should be replaced as it has shrunk up like most of these second generation Camaro's. I got a price of $130 to have the headliner replaced from a professional auto interior guy in my area but I just never got around to having it done. I bought the car about this time last year and have driven it a few hundred miles with absolutely no problems. It never fails to start and drive anywhere and is a serious head-turner. It really runs and drives well and is a blast for blowing off some steam on a Saturday or Sunday morning. Just take it out for a cruise and run through the gears. just takes you back. If your looking for a reasonably priced 1979 Camaro Z28 with it's Matching Numbers Engine and Transmission then look no further. These Factory 4 Speed cars with low miles are getting hard to find and especially at a fair price. The car is an Original Air Conditioning car but doesn't have the Air Conditioning Compressor installed as it was removed by the prior owner who installed the Edelbrock Valve Covers and other bolt on performance parts but I have a rebuilt A/C Compressor that will go with the car and I have the Original Air Cleaner and the Fresh Air Duct that screws to the passenger side of the radiator support. I also have a New Windshield Washer Reservoir and a Car Cover that will go with the car. I'm sure that I'm missing something so please feel free to ask any questions before bidding. One more thing. the previous owner who had the performance bolt-on's installed also replaced the original 3. 42 gears in the rear with 3:90 gears. This makes the car a little more responsive when your cruising around town or makes things a little more interesting when you want to have a little fun running the car hard through the gears. Anyway. can't think of much more but as I said earlier. please call me with any questions or concerns. The car is for sale locally so please feel free to contact me if your a serious buyer as I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime and for any reason without notice. Thanks for looking.
