Most Corvettes because of high mileage have had lots of parts replaced to keep them running and there are other Corvettes that are just the mongrels which sometimes are referred to ‘bits of Corvettes’ a bit of this Corvette and a bit of that Corvette and put it all together and you have a Corvette. The 1974 Corvette in this auction is of original quality all over. First of all it has documented low. low mileage. Was awarded Second Flight (four tents short of Top Flight). The car has most of its original paint except it for the back tail. The car has the very rare Gymkhana Suspension and was purposely ordered without power brakes and power steering. The purchasing documents both handwritten and typed. The seller even has titles and registrations going back to 1977. If you are a serious Corvette collector all of the above are just what you like to hear about a Corvette. The following information is from the own words of the seller. Seller purchased car in 2006 with 18. 90 miles. Seller had a local dealer perform a tune-up and 4-wheel alignment. All fluids have been changed and he runs a full synthetic 30 wt. Seller had Pro Transmission complete a light trans rebuild in 2006. turned flywheel and new clutch/pressure plate/bearing due to input bearing nosy. The seller has told us that the original owner of the car purchased it for the specific purpose of Rally Cross. That is the reason the car was ordered without power steering or power brakes. The paint is original but was touched up by second owner. The seller says the paint is shiny but it is 40-year-old paint and there are chips and areas whether there is cracking in the paint. However it looks very nice for original paint. The seller said that the new car inspection sticker is still on the windshield and the there is a first inspection sticker showing the mileage from 1977. Just nice to see the originality of the car documented. Things that the seller has done to the car are the following: The original clock was upgraded with quartz internal workings so it keeps good time but still appears original. The mirror on the passenger side was a dealer option but was actually added by the current owner. Tires are not original.
