Description of 1984 Chevrolet Corvette |
This is an “original “ 1984 Corvette. low mileage (54. 00). 2nd owner car. It is white with red leather interior. 350 Cross Fire Injection. 4 speed automatic (R700) transmission. I purchased this Corvette in 1986 from the original owner and have owned it ever since. It has been garaged in the winter and has been driven under 1. 00 miles annually since I’ve owned it. It has all original hoses and accessories. What is not original are the AC compressor and evaporator and tires. This year. I also replaced the compete brake system (rotors. calipers. master cylinder and pads and converted it to silicone brake fluid. This is a extremely clean. original car that has not been modified of cluttered up with add on accessories. It is an excellent driver and the cross fire in injection is smooth and trouble free. That is all the good news. now here is what it needs (not much): · Headlight switch knob come off (could be cemented on but then could not be removed in the dash needed service) · Right side signal light bulb (interior) is out (outside flasher and bulbs all work) · Radio antenna needs to be overhauled (I have the original but it is out of the car) · There is a small scratch (touched up) on the left front fender when a object fell on the car) · During the inspection. a small pinhole was discovered in one of the mufflers. The pipes from the ending to the mufflers are in excellent shape but at some point. the mufflers (section from rear axle reward) are going to need replacement. While doing the mufflers. I would also replace the rear shocks as they show signs of seeping (they are original) For the past few years. the car has been driven less than 500 miles annually. In preparation for selling. I had the car inspected by J&M Motorsports of Manchester Connecticut. This is a local performance shop that specializes in Corvettes and other high performance vehicles. The following issues were noted and corrected in November 2013. · Valve cover gaskets leaking – replaced · Timing cover gasket seeping – replace along with crankshaft seal · Water pump showed signs of seeping - replaced · Transmission oil pan gasket seeping – removed pan. serviced transmission. replaced selector shaft seal and pan gasket. · Oil pan gasket leaking – removed oil pan. replaced real main oil seal (as a cautionary measure) and pan gasket. There are no leaks on this car. This car is currently registered and insured. Serious buyers only - PayPal deposit required of $500 at close of auction. Full payment within 7 days of auction. This car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. |
