Description of 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 |
This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air two door hardtop was purchased NEW in Southern California and has been in the family every since. When was the last time you found a gem with sixty years of history all told by one family? It was stored a great deal of its life upwards of 15+ years which is precisely why the mileage is just barely an astonishing 30. 00. It seemed as the family grew and it passed from generation to generation it was often ignored and sat covered in the garage. It is an amazing car that has only seen dry climate (California). The car is solid with rust in the usual places. bottom of the doors. rockers. The underside is clear. It was repainted once and is showing signs of age. The photos. hopefully. illustrate these issues. The chrome is very good as you can see. The car is 99% complete. with all the critical badging and very original. As far as I can tell only the radio is not original. This is an excellent example of a car for restoration either complete for show or cosmetic with a view to get it on the road sooner than later. I know from my experience with over a dozen ground up restorations. this is the one you would look for to build your dream '55. You could not find a finer original example that has not been abused by owner after owner. each adding their own "personal" touches. The car was moved to it current location in Reno. Nevada in 2008 when it was serviced and ran very well. Then again it was stored in the garage. covered and has not moved until today for these photographs. As they say. "it ran when parked". I did not attempt to start the engine but see no reason why it would not run again with new fluids and plugs. etc. I am helping this family to sell their treasure as it is a sentimental automobile. They want the right Second Owner. I have made every attempt to represent accurately this car and provide comprehensive photos. Please ask your questions as the owners will be quick to respond and if you would like to inspect. they would be delighted. Please also note my reputation and length of time on EBAY so you know who you are dealing with. Best of luck to the highest bidder. Terms of payment are simple: $500 by Paypal within 24 hours of winning bid and auction closing. The balance by certified bank check within 7 days of auction closing. The car can remain stored for a few weeks. Pick up and shipment is the responsibility of the new owner. Happy Bidding |
