Description of 1963 Chevrolet Impala

1963 Chevrolet Biscayne Manual Three Speed on the Tree Transmission with an Inline 6 Cylinder EngineExterior: It has been Sprayed white just to preserve its current condition. It has rust on the rear quarters (drivers side has a rudimentary patch) Passenger side has some Bondo over rear wheel well. Hood has several small rust spots. No visible rust on top it does have a patch place where a light was installed and removed at one time. (Police or other style light) The Car was a factory blue car with blue interior. It has some damage to the front passenger side fender it is dented (see pictures) The frame of the car is solid no issues. Interior: It is a complete interior that is original for the most part. Some covers were installed at some point. It does have a factory radio (not working) Floor boards have several spots of rust some patch work has been done. The dash and gauges all look decent. Mechanical: It runs good after warmed up. the Carburetor could use a rebuild. It has a new clutch. pressure plate and throw out bearing. It still needs the clutch release lever adjusted as it is dragging when switch gears. The lights work. most of the gauges work. It is currently running off a tank under the hood as the gas tank in it needs to be cleaned. It does not leak but we were getting junk to the Carburetor from it so we bypassed it and install a small under hood tank. The tires are decent with some dry rotting. The brakes have been replaced and it stops well. It runs and stops. The production numbers on the Biscayne are 1/8 of what the Impalas were produce at. This particular car was thought to be a Police Interceptor or Patrol Car as it has the Light Hole on the top and radio brackets beneath the dash. We were able to find a similar picture of a patrol car of this make and year. Please see pictures. A lot of the Biscayne models were being cloned to '409' Performance versions and a lot were drag raced due to the strip down production weight compared to the Impalas in this year.
