Restoration Receipts SELLER REMARKS The 1969 Camaro is on a lot of folks' wish lists. and if you're one of them. then take a moment to examine this 1969 Camaro RS/SS hardtop rather carefully. Fully restored and essentially a brand-new Camaro. it offers a matching-numbers 350. a fantastic color combination. and that hyper-aggressive look that will never. ever go out of style. If there's a better-looking Camaro than this. I don't know what it might be. I'll admit that I'm a sucker for yellow paint. and the Daytona Yellow finish on this particular F-body was recently completed to the tune of more than $20. 00. No. we're not kidding. It was originally Azure Turquoise. but the car was acquired as a partially finished restoration that included stripping the sheetmetal. so choosing the Daytona Yellow was easy and great results were expected. The bodywork is very well finished. offering great gaps and tight fit all around that suggests good base stock. and with a cowl-induction hood and black SS stripes. the sucker looks fast just sitting in the showroom. All the correct SS badges were installed. along with a blacked-out grille. and as far as we can tell. it's also a real-deal RS and looks great with the hidden headlights up front and special RS taillights in back. Shiny chrome bumpers and gill inserts in the quarters add a little extra sparkle. just in case the brilliant paint wasn't enough. While the car was fully disassembled. it was also treated to a full interior restoration. including a set of gorgeous white houndstooth seats. The exterior color change also brought an interior change from black to white. but we think the results speak for themselves. As expertly finished as the bodywork. the immaculate interior is warm and inviting. not sterile like so many white interiors tend to be. It's also got a center console with horseshoe shifter. a factory tach. and updated Auto Meter auxiliary gauges down low the way the factory did it. Fresh black carpets. reproduction door panels. a taut headliner. and bright woodgrain appliques on the dash all make it feel new inside. A later AudioVox AM/FM stereo radio fits in the dash so well that it almost looks OEM. which is probably why it's still there. and a set of aftermarket SS floor mats protect those new carpets. In back. the trunk was correctly outfitted with a reproduction mat and a spare tire with matching cover. That's the original. numbers-matching 350 cubic inch V8 under the hood. rebuilt and ready to rumble. There's a slightly upgraded camshaft inside the block and it's fed by a Holley 4-barrel living under a cowl-induction air cleaner. Chevy Orange paint on the block and an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold help with the disguise and finned aluminum valve covers are a racy look that seems in tune with the rest of the car. As you'd expect. almost everything is newly restored and it even includes correct details like tower hose clamps and correctly-stamped hoses. The underside is spectacularly clean and orderly. offering a new exhaust system. rebuilt TH350 3-speed automatic transmission. and a heavy-duty 12-bolt rear end with 3. 73 gears on a Posi. The wicked stance is exactly right and the shiny Rally wheels fill the fenders with fat 235/60/15 front and 245/60/15 rear BFG radials. This spectacular Camaro neatly bridges the gap between matching-numbers trailer queen and Saturday night special that's a blast to drive. And there's just no way you'll find a cleaner. fresher F-body unless you restore it yourself.
