Description of 1940 Chevrolet Other |
This 1940 Chevy Special Deluxe has a straight. solid body. The paint job is older and I would rate it as driver quality. It looks good from a few feet away but upon close inspection you will see a few minor chips. There is some slight texture to the paint but it does still present well. This is not a show car but is very suitable for local cruise nights and local car shows. There is no rust bubbles showing around bottom of doors or fenders. I`ve inspected under the car and have not seen any visible rust or signs of previous rust repair. According to previous owners. this car has spent most of. if not all. of it`s life here in Texas. The majority of the trim on the car looks good. The only real issue is the headlight bezels and tail light bezels are pitted. but easily restorable. The glass is all intact. not cracked or chipped. The side windows are starting to frost some along the lower edge. The window felt and door weatherstripping is in good condition. The windows roll up and down just fine. The interior appears to be older but looks good. No rips or tears. The wheels are American Racing and have been recently refurbished and look like new. All 4 tires are brand new as well. The 350 engine is a mid-1980`s vintage and has been recently rebuilt. The engine has a 4 barrel Edelbrock carburetor with electric choke and an HEI electronic distributor. Otherwise. this is a basically stock 350 Chevy. It always starts right up and it has excellent oil pressure. no leaks and does not run hot at all. The 4 speed manual transmission was recently rebuilt and the clutch was recently replaced as well. The shifter feels nice and tight with no sloppiness. The rear-end is a 8. 5" 10 bolt from a Camaro and has freeway-friendly gearing. The brakes are drum front / rear with a new chrome plated master cylinder and power brake booster. The brakes work very well. The steering is manual and has been upgraded to a rack-n-pinion gearbox. It drives good. All of the lights work and the speedometer and windshield wipers are the only things that I`m aware of that do not work. The original heater was removed in anticipation of a Vintage A/C being installed - but that did not happen. Overall this is a good looking. dependable street rod that will turn heads everywhere and provide miles and miles of cruising fun. I have the price listed at $14. 00 but feel free to make a suitable offer. I have this car listed for sale locally. so the Ebay listing may be cancelled at any time. I have a clean / clear Texas title in hand. I am located in Pottsboro. Texas which is 1 hour north of Dallas. I am happy to answer any and all questions. Please text or call 940-632-9454. I will provide additional photos by verbal request only. In other words. call and talk to me about the car. then you can ask for more pics. Thank you for your interest in my car! |
