Description of 1962 Chevrolet C-10 |
-1962 Chevy ½ ton short bed with the original (rebuilt) 235 engine. All work has been completed by me. the seller. -The original “3 on the tree” transmission was replaced with a Saginaw 4 speed with Hearst floor shifter. The transmission was completely rebuilt (including the small parts kit) in 2005. The clutch. pressure plate. pilot shaft bushing and throw out bearing were also replaced at this time. and the flywheel was resurfaced. About 5. 00 miles on this work. -The original “torsion bar” front suspension was replaced with a coil spring disk brake unit from a 1971 ½ ton. The original rear end was replaced with a 1977 “heavy half” unit with 12” x 2. 75” drum brakes and 3. 08 gear ratio. -The coil springs and all hardware including nuts bolts & washers. bearings. seals. tie rods. ball joints and A-arm bushings are new with this suspension work. All brake disks and drums. lines and hardware. master and wheel cylinders were replaced with new. also. I also installed front and rear anti-sway bars. All this suspension & rear end work has about 20. 00 miles on it. -The engine has the following upgrades: Electronic ignition. Electric fan. Split exhaust manifold. Dual one barrel carburetors. Alternator (had generator originally). -Engine rebuild about 20. 00 miles ago: Pistons and rings. Head work (exhaust seats). Main and journal bearings. Oil pump and timing chain. -And more recently: Carburetors rebuilt. including new floats. “Desert Cooler” 3 core radiator. Fuel tank float replaced. New battery. tires. and halogen headlights. Other items: -Door rebuilds including hinges. window regulators and seals. -New windshield and rubber seal. -Side window stainless steel “Vent Shades”. -Music by Pioneer “Superturner III” CD player with Jenson tri-axle speakers. -Classic rally wheels with beauty rings and center caps. -Instrument cluster includes tachometer and vacuum gauge. I’m the 3rd owner of this 53 year old truck that runs and drives great. I bought it in 1983. It needs bed wood. floor pans and other lower sheet metal (see photos) and a paint job. or just drive it like I have. Lots of small parts and manuals go with it. The truck has been garaged for the past 10 years and averaged about 600 miles per year in that time. Good title. Buyer is responsible for vehicle pick up or hauling. Questions are always welcome. Bidders please note that my reserve price is lower than the Buy It Now price. Thanks for looking. |
