This truck took me a long time to find, since I was looking to restore a truck that wasn't full of rust or dents or missing tons of parts. It was purchased in 2004 after having sat in a shed in south Texas for 40 years, that is why this good old truck has no rust and will have the new owner delighted with the limited work it will need to go through restoration. The engine has good compression in each cylinder and has a manual 3 on the tree transmission, it does run and drive. The following upgrades and fixes were done after purchase to get it to the shape it is currently in. The owner is getting too old to deal with the final bits of restoration needed and is choosing to part with it at this time.*All new rubber hoses in the engine compartment*New wiring throughout the entire truck*New water pump*New spark plugs and wires*New points and distributor*New brakes, brake lines and brake pistons*New rubber filler hose from gas neck to tank*Gas tank professionally cleaned and restored*New floor mats*New firewall mat*New aftermarket chrome bumpers*New oak bed with chrome strips*New rear turn signals*New shocks*Seat and gauges all original*Original license plate bracket and light*Original chrome badges*Original steel body and running boards*Original spare tire mount*New batteryThe truck was stripped down to the frame and the frame was sandblasted and painted black and is is fantastic shape. There are some small dents and dings in the body but hardly anything when you consider that the truck is 60 years old. A true classic and not easy to find at all in this shape without turning over every last garage in the country. Perfect restoration project that is all original but unsure if numbers all match, I am selling this for the current owner who has had it the past 11 years and is ready to depart with it. It was well cared for during his watch and whomever the new owner is will surely enjoy it as much as he did, or probably even more since a good portion of the hard work has already been taken care of. I don't want to overstate it but once again, this truck is absolutely rust free other than surface oxidation which is not much of an issue at all. I can picture it with a great new paint job and a shiny new V8 sitting in that amply sized engine bay and a great set of rims, this will be a real show stopper with a little bit of work. Feel free to contact me with any questions via ebay or phone at 765-409-4679.I forgot to mention that there are a few original parts that will be included with the sale of the truck including manual window handles, the original water pump, original fuel filter and a few other parts. Anyone wanting to call would be best suited to call Monday between 8 AM and 7 PM. I do have many other photos of the truck, inside and out including underneath and the engine compartment. I also forgot to mention that all of the windows had been removed and were reinstalled by Jim Connell, one of the best vintage auto glass installers in the US. Jim is a personal friend of mine and I referred him to the owner of the truck back in 2011 to do the job for him and he came through. The body, I found out after the listing was initially written, was bead blasted and immediately primered thereafter, a few small areas were painted but it never went further than that. It is ready for a small amount of body work and then a great paint job I HAVE A TOTAL OF 46 PICTURES OF THE TRUCK (INSIDE AND OUT), I COULD ONLY PUT IN THE ONES THAT WERE SMALL ENOUGH FOR EBAY TO HANDLE AND THE ENGINE BAY PICS ARE ALL TOO BIG. IF YOU WOULD LIKE ME TO SEND YOU PICTURES OF THE ENGINE, PLEASE TEXT YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS TO wylie6464_1970@yahoo.com Thanks in advance to everyone interested and for your bids. OK, the truck did not meet the $10, 00 reserve and got bid up to $8, 50, offering $7, 00 is kind of silly, right? The low number is still 10K, if it doesn't sell, the owner will put a cover over it and leave it in his garage, he is in n o hurry to see, just needed a little space but can live the way it is.
