Description of 1976 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray |
For Sale: 1976 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 4 speed manual transmission car with only 15391 original miles. This Corvette has had only two owners since new and has been extremely wellpreservedand documented. The original owner owned the car until 1981 before selling to the current titled owner with only 6000 miles. That second ownerre titledthe car in 1986 when she was married and that recorded sale is supported with State of Michigan documented RD-108 receipt recording mileage and signatures on application for title and odometer signed State forms. The car is a true 15000 original mile car. The car has had only 1100 driven on it between 1986 and 2001 before going back in storage. I have the 1986 registration and its last registration from 2001 along with the 2001 license plate which matches the registration. It was only driven occasionally to car shows or on nice days for fun. The car has been gone though and madederivablefor the next owner to enjoy.Engine: The motor is the original numbers matching 350 4 barrel L-48 and it starts right up with ease. The choke works and after warmed up idles nice and smooth. This 350 runs out extremely strong and quick for its stock configuration. The engine compartment is bone stock with all of itsoriginal GM parts still in place along with factory placed decals and visible markings. Nothing has been altered from original. Transmission: This car isequippedwith itsoriginal4 speed wide ratio manual shift trans and it shifts nice and crisp as it should for only having 15000 miles. The reverse lock out is still connected and works properly by lifting shift prong. The car issurprisingquick with this 350 and 4 speedconfiguration.Exhaust: The car still has its original factory exhaust manifold and system with exception to new rear mufflers. The original catalyticconverter was on the car but was clogged so I installed a text pipe which really woke up theperformanceof thecar and gave it a nice aggressive sound. I kept the catalyticconverterand it will go with the car if you want it. You do not need to spend any money on the exhaust system.Interior: The interior is bone stock from carpet to seats to dash to door panels to trim. The interior is in beautiful original condition and no money needs to be spent. Leather is nice and soft and in great shape. This car has its original one year only steering wheel also.Brakes: I had the brakes inspected and had to replace a caliper only because of a minor fluid leak. The brakes are very safe and stop the car well. There is a nice strong pedal without any fade. Good brake system.Body: The body is in great shape as well as the paint. You will notice in the pictures that the bumper are original and deteriorated . I have since replaced both the front and rear bumpers at a cost of $1500 with the correct Corvette Connection Flex Bumpers and had them painted to match the car. The balance of the paint on the car is in great condition and does not need to be painted. Extremely nice deep in color shine to the beautiful GM Bright Blue Metallic paint.I have the original window sticker for the car(not reprint) with listed options of :Air conditioning $523.00Tilt and telescopic steering $97.00Heavy Duty battery $16.00Interior lights group $10.00Stereo Radio(original) $281.00Smoke Gray Leather $164.00Wide ratio 4 speed $ 0.00Total sticker price was $9054.85 (what a deal)I am selling the car "as is" because cars of this age are but feel free to come and view for yourself how nice it is in person and take it for a spin. You will be impressed with its condition anddrive ability. I have included a buy it now option in my auction for those of you who prefer to bypass the auction process and own the car now. Feel free to call me at 248-760-0021 to discuss the car or to make purchase arrangements. Thank you for viewing my auction. Bob |
