Description of 1929 Chevrolet Other |
I bought this car last year with the intention of redoing the whole thing. It had a lot of bondo in it which I knew when I bought it. I stripped everything down by hand with a wire wheel. With the metal exposed it was clear what needed to be done. The rear deck lid was just a piece of sheet metal with bondo smoothed over it so it does not have a deck lid. The firewall was boxed to accommodate the small block. I drilled it out and planned on putting a stock one back in (roughly $200). The doors have been reversed (suicide). With these cars the doors can just be swapped side to side and that is what they did. I cut them off the body and plan on re doing the hinges. I hope to have new hinges to go with the car but not promising anything. I had the corners of the cab redone and it turned out perfectly. The car still needs metal work on the top below the rear window and around the doors. Again it is a project not a show car. If you are a rat rod guy you could let it ride the way it is but that was not my intention. The chassis is boxed in the center and is 2x5". The front end is a leaf spring with a manual rack steering. The rear is a chevy rear with a 4link type set up with coil springs. I have some metal to go with the car as well. I have a piece of 3" round tube as well as an 8" stick of 2x5. I planned on re building the front end and basically tapering it down to 3" in the front of the chassis and using the round tube in between the frame rails then use a perch from speedway to kick the leaf out a little. The car was running and driving about 8 months ago (yellow pic). It could be slapped back together with minimal work but that's not my style. I wanted it to be an all metal street rod but time is what I do not have anymore.I have all of the old interior for it as well as the steering columndash etc. It was built in the 90s so keep that in mind too.For the winning bidder I will mount the motor and tranny back in and somehow secure the body back to the chassis for shipping purposes. I will not pay for shipping or arrange it but will definitely assist in prepping the car. I am in Cheyenne Wyoming. If you are close I recommend coming to see it in person to make sure it is what you want. I am selling this complete car for less than some bodies go for. I am interested in trades so let me know by email. If you include your phone number I will text you pretty quick. I do not want another project. If you have a complete street rod that you would take this car and cash for let me know. I need something I can drive now. A $1000 NON REFUNDABLE deposit is to be made within 24hours of auction end. Thanks and happy bidding. |
