The '69 Camaro was indeed popular and ubiquitous that said Z/28's account for about 8% of total Camaro production in 1969. The Z/28 is highly desired and relatively rare amongst Camaro enthusiasts. Camaro in general continues to be popular with the reveal of the sixth generation this week- which a LOT like this car does. It is flat out uncommon to have just a hot performance model in such a dominant color survive with so few original miles clocked on the odometer. Most carefully preserved cars are ordered new by careful people (read that as boring people) who prefer earth tones and more sedated engine options. The 5500 miles clocked on the odometer are actual miles. This unrestored car also boasts 80% original paint. Only the left driver's door corner and near the right rear window has been retouched. Her pedigree is undeniable GM of Canada Documented with 100% numbers matching born with drivetrain. The only items replaced on the vehicle are the gas tank mufflers with original NOS parts and a new shift linkage (with the original shifter intact). Owned by the current owner since July 20 1998 and stored in a climate controlled garage. Some may say she is simply "too clean" when compared to your average barn find. They would be right. Because she is so remarkably original she was used as a reference for hardware and assembly manuals to benefit others wanting to restore and preserve their beloved Camaro Z/28. Because it was so remarkably preserved its original hardware used to pattern Z/28 restoration bolt kits produced by www.amkproducts.com. The undercarriage was disassembled one bolt at a time each removed cleaned sent to AMK for patterning returned and reinstalled before the next one was sent. An undertaking that is a testament to the meticuolus dedicated the previous owner has to the hobby. It was also used as a benchmark reference for restoration assembly manual technical drawings. When it was reassembled the components were dressed prevent any corrosion but according to the current and previous owner were not restored retouched or refurbished aside from were stated below. The car is tight runs and drives like a factory unrestored car. She is remarkable not only because she has so few miles and is in tremendous shape but also because a RED 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is in such well preserved condition. This is one car that truly deserves the “survivor” moniker attributed to it. Call 847-838-3749 or Email pat@showyourauto.com for more information!
