Description of 1967 Chevrolet C-10 |
This is a 1967 Chevrolet C10 truck. It is a short wide bed. The truck is a manual steering manual brake model. It has some good points it has some bad points. It is almost 50 years old. I will do my best to disclose everything I can i do these trucks and do not want to hoodoo anyone over an old beater. I bought this truck in May. I have a business that does these trucks and parts for them so I was wanting a short bed for the shop. I am happy with the deal i made on the truck it is just that my real job has picked up as well as our truck business and there are just not enough hours in the day to finish this one to what I am wanting it to be. On a down note i have never had a small back glass cab and I do not like the limited field of vision. Thought I would like the look but I really need to see instead. The engine is a pre-vortec 350. it is very mild the only changes are an aftermarket intake a Holley carburetor and a set of headers. It has an HEI distributor. The engine starts and runs very well no rattles or smoke. The engine still has the GM air conditioner compressor but the truck IS NOT air conditioned. Has either Flowmasters or a set of knock offs have not looked that close. The trans is the same 700R4 that came with the engine I believe the previous owner said both were pulled from a running driving 92 GMC. It has not had the TV cable set on it and I have only driven it to load and unload I have heard they will burn up quickly if not adjusted right and there is not a trans shop around I have had time to take it to yet again back to the whole work taking off deal. The brake system has new wheel cylinders hoses lines and a master cylinder. Manual drums but they get the job done. The headlight harness has been cut they do not at present time function. All bulbs and lamp assemblies are there just the wiring has been cobbled on over the years. I will remove a harness from one of our parts truck and include it for the winning bidder. I am terrible at wiring so I am doing everyone a favor by not trying to fix it myself. The body has a few dents and ripples it is after all a truck. The bed floor has had a few small pieces of metal screwed down over some bad spots. It has had the rockers replaced but they are just riveted in for now. It will need cab corners and if I were going to keep it I would put new cab supports on it. How about some upsides! The previous owner had a new windshield and gasket installed rebuilt the window regulators and put new exterior door handles on it. None of these are anythng major just nice little bonuses. The windows roll up and down better than any of these trucks we have ever had. I will also throw in a set of five lug spindles and rotors that came with it. I know I am missing some items and have been pretty brutal on the truck but I do not want to mislead anyone. Is it a $10000.00 truck no. Is it a $7500.00 truck no it isn't even a $5000.00 truck. It is rough it has issues and has the ugliest wheels known to man. It is just a cool old short bed that you could beat and bang on to make it the way you want it drive it while re-doing what you wanted to change. And it is priced so that you can buy it and do a few things to it. |
