Description of 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS |
1968 Camaro possibly an orig SS or Z28 but I have no way to verify anything other than its an orig V8 car (12437). the car was restored in the early 1990's and the body is starting to show its age. the paint is a 10 footer some bubbles around drip rails nicks and scratches here and there. no dents though very straight body. it has had GM quarters put on it when it was redone the floors have been patched trunk has a new pan installed. it had a roll cage in it that somebody cut out and the floor plates are still there and holes are not welded up yet. the car was badged as a Z28 at some point so there are extra holes on the fenders for the emblems (i have the emblems) the body of the car is solid there is only one actual spot of rot and it is on the left rear INNER wheelhouse nothing on the actual body itself. it has a 12 bolt posi with 3.73 gears multi leaf springs and traction bars. it has power front disk brakes and aftermarket sway bar (needs a bracket fixed) the interior was all recently replaced and is in good shape could use a carpet as this one has holes for the roll bar in it. it has an aftermarket stereo and speakers and racing seat belts. B&M pro stick shifter full auto meter gauges grant wheel. the exhaust is coated Hooker Super Comp headers and true duals sounds nice but isnt horribly loud. all lights work as they should and the car passed state inspection with no issues (but no working e brake) it has a detroit speed wiper motor. American Racing Torque thrust 2 wheels with new tires. there is a fuel cell in the trunk Mallory pump and filter and all braided AN lines to the engine. the ignition system is all Mallory. there is a besd rolled block off plate where the A/C box was. it has a HD aluminum radiator with dual fans as well as a transmission cooler. NOW THE BEST PART. the engine is a 509 cube big block that has been redone with a forged bottom end ARP bolts JE Pistons hydraulic roller cam ported GM headsARP bolts high flow water pump The blower shop billet case 8-71 blower with dual Demon 750 blower carbs BDS scoop CSR thermostat housing. the previous owner spend 20k just on the on the engine! the trans is a built TH400 with a 3k stall converter. it starts right up and is very smooth. in gear it has the characteristic idle surge that everyone seems to love ( personally i was going to tune that out but never got around to it). THE BODY OF THE CAR IS ALSO AVAIL AS A ROLLER this is a fun car that has had a ton of money invested it was fully restored at one point and could just use some TLC to be a show winner again. I was told it is making around 700HP but i have never been to the track or a dyno I have never even beaten on this car. Its just a fun street cruiser. I wont have any time the rest of the summer to even drive it so I am putting it up for sale. I have a clear title in my name for it. again its not a 100 point show car but its an all together running and driving car that still looks great and sounds amazing! must be paid in full within 3 days of auction end should be picked up within a few weeks. I am sure to be forgetting things so please ask questions! |
