Description of 1937 Chevrolet Other Pickups |
I have a clear Kansas title signed over to me by the owner but I cannot get the truck registered in Indiana because the VIN doesn't match the car number on the truck. My understanding is that there were no VIN's in 1937 and that each state would decide to use their own designation some the car number some the engine number possibly others. I will be selling this truck with a bill of sale only since I cannot get the title changed over to my name. The local police did do a stolen vehicle check and it came back ok. The first picture was taken when I bought the truck as it sat in Kansas. The rest of the pictures are as it is now. I removed the grille hood radiator etc. (all are included with the truck) so that I could have the engine removed to be rebuilt. The head has been redone by a cylinder head specialist locally and is ready to be installed. The engine is disassembled and some parts cleaned in preparation for a rebuild. Meantime I found out that I could not get the title changed over so I decided not to put a lot of money in a vehicle that I cannot legally drive. The door glass and cranking mechanisms are missing. They were gone when I bought the truck. The remaining glass are cracked. The seat is also missing (gone when I bought the truck). When removing the grille I broke one of the headlight mounts (passenger side). The truck has a very nice looking woodgrain bed on it. I had full intentions of fixing the truck and driving it. But under the circumstances I am selling it as is no guarantees. If your state does not require a title perhaps you will want to restore it. Otherwise there are a lot of usable parts. A non refundable deposit of $250.00 is required via PayPal within 24 hours of auctions end. The remaining balance is due in cash when the vehicle is picked up or within ten days whichever comes first. I believe the transmission is a four speed with 2 speed axle. |
