After Careful Consideration I have decided to sell my very original 1960 corvette. I have owned it less than a year and have spent the past several months babying it back to life. I planned on keeping it however other priorities are takingprecedence. I purchased the car from the second or third owner who had stored it in his garage since approximately 1981-1982. He restored the car in 1980-81 which included a rebuilt motor and transmission interior work brakes suspension bushings and a repaint. All work appears to have been done frame on. Very shortly after the previous owner got it back on the road the radiator developed a leak. He then put it in his garage where it stayed until I purchased it. After getting it home I began to go through the whole car to verify the information he gave me. I found all information to be accurate. Upon removal of oil pan and valve covers I found wax markings still on the rods from the 1981 rebuild. There appears to be very few miles (if any) put on it since 1980. My mechanic my upholsterer and I did the following work to the car over the last several months. EngineInspected crank and rods replaced oil pan gasket inspected heads and replaced valve cover gaskets changed oil primed the oil pump lubricated the cylinders and allowed block to soak for 24 hours prior to cranking. New plugs and points were also installed.Fuel SystemI replaced the original O.L. Anderson Stamped tank with a reproduction fuel tank to avoid any contamination. The original tank appears to be leak free but will need to be cleaned and checked prior to re-use. New sending unit was installed. The rigid fuel lines were flushed rubber hoses were replaced. The original fuel pump was rebuilt and restored and not replaced the carburetor was completely overhauled and restored.Cooling I re-cored the radiator with the appropriate v-cell radiator core keeping the original tanks and sticker. Installed new reproduction GM hoses with correct stamps. Flushed the block replaced freeze plugs and t-stat and bled system.ElectricalPrevious owner installed a non-original ignition switch. I replaced the non original with correct switch. Gauges work except Tach. I have not addressed the tach. Lights work as they should with low and high beams.TransmissionAppears to be previously rebuilt as paint was in good condition and the car drives as it should. Linkage from first to second may need slight adjustment. Clutch appears to be new.Brakes.I was able to rebuild all original cylinders except the front two wheel cylinders the front cylinder cores will come with the car. The A arms rear end and drums are in very good shape and appear to have been repainted during original restoration. Replaced rubber lines where necessary replaced steel lines where necessary. All brake lines were flushed and bled.InteriorThe interior was in decent shape when I got the car but the carpet was not the appropriate style and the seats were in need of an update. The Car now has a fresh interior with new hand stitched carpet and new pad new seat covers new door panels and a new Al Knoch Vinyl top.ExteriorI have not done any work on the exterior of the car. The car looks presentable at 5 feet but the Lacquer re-paint has shrink cracks throughout and there are a few areas that are chipping. The Chrome is all original and in decent shape but has developed minor patina.Overall the Car is now in great shape and can be driven as is. A few things will need to be addressed. I am in the process of tuning the points and distributor and that should be completed prior to the sale. The exhaust system will need to be replaced as there are areas that have rusted through. Do not be concerned about rust elsewhere. The frame and undercarriage components are all completely solid and in excellent shape. I do have the hardtop but it could use a repaint. Overall this car currently would make a fantastic driver and could easily be shown as well. This would also be an excellent candidate for someone wanting to do an NCRS restoration now or in the future due to its originality. I love this car as it is the last year of the pretty smile (toothed grill) and classy ass (round deck lid) I hate to see it go. Title is clean and clear and car will come with all documents I received i.e. newspaper clippings receipts etc. Note: I recently discovered the letter "S" on vin was misprinted as a "5" on title. I have resubmitted title to Nevada DMV and should have corrected title by this week. Car is sold as is with no warranty. Buyer to verify all information prior to bidding. $1000.00 non refundable deposit due upon winning the auction. Buyer to arrange all shipping/transport. Payment to be made via cash in person (preferred method) wire transfer or bank check. Payment to be made in full or cleared prior to vehicle pickup. Car is for sale by owner. I'm sure I may have left something out but the main points have been addressed. Please feel free to contact me with any questions at 702 376-8721. Thanks and good luck.
