Description of 1957 Chrysler Imperial 2 door

Up for sale is an amazing example of 1950's big fin cars. This 1957 Chrysler Imperial Coupe sports a spunky and excellent running 392 Hemi engine with a smooth shifting Torqueflight transmission. The running gear in this car is in excellent condition, tarts right up, dles smooth, o smoke, o leaks, o overheating.

She drives down the road just like she looks and gets plenty of attention. You can drive for a long time before you see another Imperial as nice as this.

The History:

As told to me, his car was part of a very large collection of cars stored many years in Florida. It had not been on the road in well over 20 years and the mileage on the car is most likely original, ut no way to know for certain. the lack of rust would indicate the car was indeed inside as there was very little rust to deal with during a moderate restoration.

Work done:

When I got the car nearly a year ago, t arrived in completely original and unmolested condition, true survivor. She was a dull gold color, he interior was also gold and in need of replacing. The body was very sound. It is a rock solid car wit very little rust issues. The right front fender has been replaced as there were too many dents to try to fix, he left rear quarter panel had some rust along the trim line but was easily repaired. The rockers, loorboards, ngine compartment, nner fenders and all else was very solid. There was a touch of rot in the right rear of the trunk but was removed and repaired.

All the panels are original to the car, he doors, ood, ruck lid etc all came with her. The engine and trans were pulled, one over, hecked out good, etailed and put back together. The heads were done with a minimal amount of work required. This 392 Hemi engine is strong and steady.

The front end was rebuilt, ew shocks, rakes, rake lines all around, ew bushings, xcept torsion bars, ere installed. Tires are at about 80%.

The body was in very solid condition but for the previously mentioned. The car received a very nice single stage 2 tonepaint job, ot car show quality, ut certainly very attractive. The color was completely changed from the original gold and done so well and completely, t would be difficult to see the color change.

The interior was completely redone using the highest quality and most durable fabric available. The carpet, eadliner, ash, ll new.

What makes this car so interesting ids that absolutely everything works. The clock, adio, ll windows, urn indicators, auges, ights, ome lights, unning lights all work as they were designed. The A/C is all there but did not take the time to make work, he heater and blower all work great.

The glass is all in excellent condition. The chrome in and out is all nearly flawless, he bumpers are solid. The undercarriage is clean and without issues.

Please check out pics, mail or call 530-519-2195 with any questions . The car is stored inside and can remain there until picked up for transport. I have not driven this car on any lengthy trips. It is not currently registered but comes with a clean and clear title.

Note: I have a full set of 14" Imperial hubcaps that can go with the car. The tires that are in place are 15". I have a considerable amount of additional parts for the Hemi, nd the car itself. The hubcaps on the car are aftermarket.
